Lack of 22-250 brass

With the lack of good 22-250 brass. Lapua quit producing it. Looking at threads people use to make 6xc brass from lapua 22-250 brass.

Can i take 6xc and make 22-250 brass ? What are the options these days ?

I don’t understand why 22-250 brass is so hard to find, 22-250 being one of the most popular varmint rounds ever and in use with many shooters today. it’s a pain in the butt.

I can’t comment on 6XC brass being converted to 22-250 brass either but if you can’t find decent brass another option is loaded ammo which is pretty plentiful and it’s not far off what a guy would pay for brass. The link below is one example.

I’ve found that the older Winchester blue bag stuff is pretty good after weight sorting. This comes up for sale on the forums fairly often.

How many firings are you getting on brass before primer pockets get loose ?

I am using Peterson 22 creed brass for my 22-250 ackley. Couldn't find brass either and got impatient

I just opened a couple bags this summer, using in a tikka and a savage. Have 5 loadings on some of it and primer pockets still holding good.

They quietly stopped making it.

Brother they have quietly stopped making all of the Walmart cartridges. Try to find 243 or 270 or 3030 etc etc

They have essentially stopped making just darn near everything while no one was looking.

It seams your correct Star Line is a good source of brass. But I looked and they also have no 22/250 brass listed Hummmmm I'd call Starline and put your name on the list for the next run of brass. They make good bass cases.

Starline is very selective about what cartridges they offer in their brass, 22-250 would seem like a no brainer but I’ve asked them about it and 35 Remington, they were nice but said there was no plans for either in the immediate future, that was a year and half ago. Hopefully that changes, on both accounts.

Here you go. My 200 pieces of Remington 22-250 brass has 9 loadings on it, pockets are not loose yet and it's loaded right now for the 10th time. I have Tula LRMP'S to use when the pocket starts to feel loose. I will burn this barrel out with this brass.

I have 1800 pieces of Remington 22-250 brass, new in the bag. Never fired, never opened etc. Willing to sell it.

Was going to make 6XC brass a decade and a half ago. Never did. If anyone is interested, I'll make a for sale post. Not going to give it away.

When I got my first 22-250 back around 64/65 when they first hit, my dealer said his supplier said it was the first in the state! No 22-250 brass or ammo. I just picked up a couple boxes of 250 Savage and ran then thru the size! Wala1 22-250! Probably no 250 around either now days.

I agree with Nakneker, with cost of factory ammo I'm getting sig and norma ammo and saving brass.

Not a direct answer to your question, but there are people out there who no longer shoot .22-250 and have components laying around, like me. You need to grab as much as you can afford to buy because nothing is ever going to become plentiful and cheap ever again.
I'd look for fellow shooters who are enthusiasts/friends and who who wouldn't mind helping you. I have 63 once-fired, cleaned and deprimed Remington brand cases that I would be willing to pass on for $40 shipped if that would help you. They were shot in a Nikko Golden Eagle bolt gun.

I had no idea .22-250 brass was unavailable at this time. I bought enough Lapua a few years to consume the barrel. A good rule of thumb is to buy enough brass for the barrel when you install fresh.
