Set the Labradar "trigger" to 4, otherwise you will get a lot of false triggers when you close the bolt.

I have a Magnetospeed as well as Labradar. The MagnetoSpeed has always worked well, but as someone else mentioned it doubled my range time - one group for velocity and another for size.
One benefit I have not seen mentioned, the Labradar does not just give you muzzle velocity, but muzzle velocity + five more points down range that you get to select. Total distance is limited by bullet size, but I find some comfort in having real data vs. an estimate from a ballistics table.

I've had mine for a few years now. A few hic ups now and
then, but life is good. Not shown in my pic is the aiming tube
for the top, or the new leveling adjuster screws I added. After
I made my base, and powder coated it, I filled it with lead shot.
That's a 20,000 ma juicer. It will power it more then a shooting
season without a recharge.

I like the one I have, but whether it is better for you than an optical or magnetic unit depends on how and where you plan to use it.
The LabRadar is great if you often shoot at facilities where you are well spaced from other shooters and setting up an optical chronograph in front of the firing line is difficult. I mount mine on a traditional camera tripod which makes adjusting the direction very easy. Learning how to align the thing to pick up smaller projectiles took some practice. Radar reflects more strongly off of .308 and larger bullet bases, so alignment is easier.
I still own and maintain a couple optical chronographs. The LabRadar needs a flight distance of 50 yards or so, and there are occasions where that is inconvenient - some handgun testing, shooting ballistic gelatin, armor testing, and use at indoor ranges. Even an indoor range with 50-100 yards can have lots of reflections that make the LabRadar use iffy compared with optical chronographs.
Consider the tradeoffs if your plan is to do all your testing with one chronograph.

Con for radar when it matters is that the bullet base is the radar target. This means that smaller bullets with a very small boat tail base don't work because the radar reflection is inadequate. I suspect for the vast majority of users this will never come up but verify that your application works. One pro says the Radarlab is nice but that he sometimes is obliged to use something else that works for a given application so he often uses a bench mounted not barrel mounted Magnetospeed or an optical screen system
For the 35P a flat surface in front of the bench and sandbags to deal with the wind on many ranges are in my experience the main issues. I have also been known to shoot through the screens without first checking the dip switches to match current screen spacing.
Just the same I am happy with my 35P. In fact I bought a second 35P used as the secondary market has dropped with the rise of competition. I'll add a radar unit only if I run across a great bargain or even a fair bargain after a windy day with my 35P.

I just got a LabRadar. Bought an external battery, 32 Gb SDHC card and downloaded the APP. Everything fires up o.k and the APP works. Now I need to make a bench stand because the guy on here is out. I have not used it yet because it is way cold out.
The only question I have is the APP only displays m/sec. I hope when I have actual data it will change to ft/sec like I have the unit configured.

In the app Tap the logo in the upper I believe left-hand corner that should open the menu and allow you to change several settings etc.

I have never had a problem with it picking up .224 and even .20 diameter boat tail bullets.
When I first got it, I tested it against my 35P and the results were within a few fps.
The LabRadar has settings in it to select the bullet diameter and you can change the sensitivity.
The key to a LabRadar is proper SET-UP.......PERIOD!
Get the remote switch that mounts on the rifle. Eliminates the failure to pick up the shot problem.
I use the remote trigger switch when I am shooting suppressed.
