Labradar and small projectiles

Had to send mine back. Had to have the muzzle close enough to give it powder burn before it would reliably trigger. Sent it back, apparently too much packing around the microphones. I’ve tested it with 9, 40, 556, 6.5 and 308 since then. Triggers everytime with muzzle 6-10 inches away. Use a straw to help get it line up with the path off the BULLET and lock down on sturdy base and I get consistent readings. Give them a call, very helpful.

That's what I did while at the range. They were extremely nice, and very helpful. Got mine up and running using 5.56, 6.5, and .308 diameter bullets. The straw trick is "on target" so to speak. It makes alignment of the unit a breeze. i haven't used it with handguns yet.

Initially, I had issues registering that a shot was even fired when using a suppressor, both supersonic and subsonic loads. I was forced to place the Labradar around 4" in front of rifle's muzzle and 2" off to one side. Before taking a shot I had to confirm that I wouldn't clip the Labradar.

All my issues went away when I bought the Air Gun Adapter (external microphone) for $45. Now I have zero issues registering shots using a suppressor. Regardless of whether or not using a suppressor, you have to remember to toggle the Range Velocity to "Rifle" when shooting supersonic loads and to "Pistol" when shooting subsonic loads.

I need to test some 20gr Vmax loads through my 17-222. I'll let you know how well the Labradar registers the shots.
