Kudos to Nightforce

Somewhere along the line I lost both of my screw on turret caps to my Nightforce BR scope. I searched our house top to bottom and even checked my truck, all to no avail. I found things I haven't seen in years though, but no caps.

So this past Tuesday Dec. 20th in the am I called Nightforce customer service in Orofino, ID and explained to them I had lost my turret caps and asked them if they could help me out. The guy I spoke with was extremely helpful and took all of my information and said the turret caps would be sent out to me right away at NO CHARGE. He also asked me to be patient because, due to the holidays, the mail might be slow. I thought, Wow that is absolutely awesome!!!

So guess what came "priority mail" to me today, Thursday Dec. 22nd in Pennsylvania???....Yep, two new turret scope caps.

To say I am impressed and grateful to Nightforce is an understatement!!! They are definitely an upstanding company that really cares about and takes care of their customers.

I have bought several different models of new and used Nightforce scopes over the years and have had great luck with all of them.

They definitely get 5 stars from me!!!

"Merry Christmas"
Alan

They have treated me the same for needs I have had. I email them asking how much and where do I send payment, but they have always shipped me what I needed for free. Just another reason that my stock of NF scopes in use has grown over the years. And the clarity of the optics helps as well. Glad they did you right!

A company to have and produce a rock solid and obviously reliable product is really good in itself but to treat their customers as well as they do on top of that..... They are bound to succeed.

I hate to be the guy that relates a negative experience, but both sides of the customer service experience should be public. About 15 months ago I bought a new NX-8 4-32. Without a shot being fired, I discovered that there was something very obviously wrong with the scope optically. I contacted Nightforce and returned the scope. When I didn't hear anything from them, I contacted them and inquired about the status of the scope. The customer service rep relayed that indeed there was a defect in the objective lens. Three customer service guys and two management layers later they were beaten into submission and replace the defective, new, fresh out of the box scope. They sure as hell had no intent of replacing it, and would certainly not have done so if I had not insisted. The replacement has been excellent, but that's a pi$$ poor way to treat a customer who just spent $2000 + on a defective product.

My info. which may be incorrect, but came from an employe of a competitor in Aussie, is that Nightforce scopes were made at one time by Hakko and later by Light Optical Works, who also make some Trijicon scopes and some others. That does not exclude some scopes being made is the US (?) or numerous other places. I don't think that origin of a scope detracts from quality. March is Japanese, Burris are mainly Philipine made except for top end XTR which is made at Steiner in Colorado. Are all Leupold optics made in the US....and how about US Optics?

There are very few single source optical companies - Swaravski/Kahles (Austria) and IOR (Romania) come to mind.

A couple of scope caps is a very nice gesture. But, when big issues arise is when you really see what a company actually has for a warranty. Several close friends have been treated very poorly by Nightforce when their scopes had major issues. Just something to be aware of. My one and only NXS is awesome, but I do worry if something were to go wrong....

I had a horrible experience with them 20 plus years ago. I swore I wouldn't ever get another. Today I have 3, like You said worried about service. Earlier this year,, a buddy had a 30 plus year old Niteforce benchrest scope that crapped out, I told him good luck. He said they were very pleasant on the phone, refurbished his scope no charge! I called them about a 5x25 ATACR that got the objective damage in a wind storm. Sent me a work slip with a price of $250 to replace the lens and go through the scope. Lady I talked to couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. I think they maybe, hopefully are looking at how other optic companies are treating customers. Leastways, I feel better about mine.

It's not difficult to find....

Who makes Nightforce scopes?

Nightforce Optics is a U.S. based company that is owned and operated by an Australian company called Lightforce Performance Lighting. Nightforce was originally founded by an Australian. As mentioned above, some of the Nightforce models are labeled as being made in Japan, while others are labeled as being made in the United States.

Where are Nightforce SHV scopes made?

As I discussed above, the Nightforce SHV scopes feature glass from Japan and are marked as being made in Japan. However, they are assembled, inspected, tested, etc. at the Nightforce facility in Idaho.

Which Nightforce scope models are made in Japan?

The following Nightforce scope models are marked as being made in Japan:

  • SHV series
  • NX8 series
  • NXS series
  • Competition series
  • Benchrest series
