Krieger Bore Diameter

Some argue over the two diameters and which is more accurate with X bullet and load bla bla bla. The truth is taking into account shooter error, wind, load and all the other goodies we all talk about the answer to your question is......6 of one 1/2 a dozen of the other. You'll never know the difference.

Actually, with some bullets, the bore dimension can make a difference. As part of a railgun project, Jackie Schmidt shot some Lapua Scenars in a .237 Krieger. These bullets run skinny -- 0.2427 or so. Performance was "OK" with these bullets, but the fatter Berger 105s shot much better. Later, Jackie chambered a .236 Krieger on a gun and tried the same "skinny" Scenars and they grouped exceptionally well.

That said you can probably achieve good results with "average bullets" with either bore diameter. All things being equal, the tighter bore will likely show more pressure with an equivalent charge.

In practical terms, the short-range BR guys favor the .237s. For the 300+ yard shooters, I don't think there's a clear preference. Personally, I like tight bores, so I'd favor an 0.236.
