Krieger BBL's

Well, just finished the break-in of the 3rd of 4 new Krieger BBL's.

#1...6-6.5x47L Breakin....3 shots. Now have 400+ rounds through it....I just now need to give it a light brushing (nylon) to remove copper. I probably could just patch in a second round of sweets, but elected to give it 4 brush strokes with a nylon brush..Second round of Sweets....CLEAN!!

#2..... 6mm Dasher. Breakin 3 shots..only used the bronze brush for the first two shots. 85 round to date. Cleanup after the last 40+ shots...3 wet patches....CLEAN!!

#3....30 cal 1-12...300WSM. 2 shots...bronze brush after the first...wet patches ONLY after the second......CLEAN!!!!

Going to do the 300 WSm HG this week. Hopeing for the same!!!

Giddyup!!

Tod: My most recent Krieger, 1-17 twist 30 cal.. cleaned up "as advertised" Had copper fouling for the first 5 shots, so cleaned after each shot, then it suddenly stopped coppering, so shot 3 & cleaned, then 5 & clean, then 10. Normal cleaning routine now.

For this one, their recommended break-in was right on. I did have one that had extreme coppering for the first 15 to 18 rounds. It is one of my easiest to clean. One thing I have learned: they are all different. ;)

I have a 1-8" twist .260 barrel, Cleaned after a couple of shots with Butchs Bore shine on a patch. Very small trace of copper on one land near muzzle. Now after about 200 rounds it refuses to leave any copper anywheres. Never used a brush once.

Doesn't matter if it fouls a little, how does it shoot?

The 6-47L shoots ok...it's just kind of a play gun/ hunting gun/ backup gun. I really havn't done any load workup on it. Just been banging steal out to 1360 with it out of my hunting shack.

The 6 Dasher....well, I am just in the FF stage. 87 so far. But my FF loads have been shooting under 1/4 moa out to 500 with 31G Varget and 105 Berger BT's!!! False sholder AND jaming the bullet. Going to another shoot this weekend to FF some more brass...again, out to 500. You MN guys should be taking in these winter "fun" shoots. WAY BIG FUN!!

Only have the two shots out of the 1/12 twist WSM, and I JUST finished breakin on my HG five min ago.... 1-9.5 300WSM...Little brushing after the 1st.....wet patches only after the second breakin shot. CLEAN!!!

THAT'S FOUR FOR FOUR!!!!

Now, my luck.....load development will be like...1000 rounds per tube.

Sigh!!!

Hey...Cafull Al....or I'm gona order extra SPIT on your next steak!!! MY TREAT!! ;D

I can share your pain with that one. When I was doing load development on my 6.5x284, I was thinking of ordering a replacement barrel because I was sure it would be worn out by the time I got the load down.

Recently broke in a Hart .308 10 twist barrel. 3 shots then clean X 3. Barrel is perfect. Never any copper and I have 500 rounds through it now.

I do use a bronze brush and Montana Extreme stroking one time per shot fired after each range session. I also use USP paste each 250 rounds in the first 10 inches or so of the barrel by stroking it about 10 times. It's the best way to remove excess carbon.

If you don't already have one, get a Lucas bore guide. None better.
