Krauss Rules Manatee Shoot

Steve Krauss just earned his 600 and 1,000 yard High Master in F Class. No reason why he should not rule in South Florida. Steve used a BAT in 284 to take top gun with a total of 192/4X. At Manatee, in the heat and mirage, that score ruled today.

Manatee has an "IBS Style" 1,000 or 600 yard paper shoot one Saturday each month. On other Saturdays there is a 1,000 gong, 600 gong or the 300 yard Dirty Bird shoot. If you want to participate, check the Manatee Gun Club site calendar for each month's schedule. Normally the paper shoot is 4th Saturday of the month.

This is part of the line at today's shoot. Steve is in the foreground with Eric Bostrom on the next bench. Had to show what the winner was shooting.

There are many style shoots at Manatee and all are welcome. Bring a rifle and a smile.

The big winner today was young Cory Tolksdorf. He shot the small 10 shot group of the day with a 6.9", and won for best agg. with 2, 10 shot groups with an average of 7.35". He is really coming along, with guidance from his granddad. A big congratulations to Cory. Just keep bringing it. We have our eye on you now.

Steve

The F class matches start in January, I believe. Great event - distances out to 300yd and maybe 600 yd this year if the electronic targets come to fruition.

Congratulations to Steve & Cory
If it wasn't for me This wouldn't of happened ;D ;D ;D
Thanks (Steve) for your help with Cory.
Cory is 11 years old This summer Cory has learned how to reload.
He loads his and my bullets . He anneals and check sets the head space on 3 different guns. Check and sorts the cases by H20 capacity. Drops the powder and seat the bullets.
He is part of RAS Tuner Team. His shooting Skills is good enough we can use the data for testing.
His gun is a Bostrom built Savage 8 T He had the small group target the first Dirty Bird Shoot. The gun he shot Saturday was Bostrom Savage 7.5 T his Dad won both High Score & Small Group in the Dirty Bird Shoot Week previous.
Thanks Steve For all your help with Cory. ;D Larry

300 yard F-Class matches for sure.

600 yard F-Class if we can get our act together. We have the 600 yard range and the shooting platform. 10 Electronic Silver Mountain targets and support goodies are in the $40K to $50K range. We have the money, but can not justify for just F-Class. Plan is to provide shooting platform berms at 200, 300 and 500 yards to enable many other NRA hi-power events. With those guys on board in addition to the F-Class we can easily see a way.

I would welcome any and all comments about this topic, thru a PM. For now I would just like to let Cory bask in his accomplishments. Steve

I've been shooting F Class 300yd at Manatee for 6yrs now. Tom does an excellent job running the F Class matches. Those new targets at various berms would be a great addition to a great shooting club.

Thanks to all, but I have not received my NRA Hi-Master card yet. I did shoot 195 match rounds in the 4 day Palma and 1000 yard match at Lodi, WI. this past June. Shot 98.5% average 10/x's at all ranges 800,900 and 1000, 9 matches over 3 days and 98.5% average 10/x's on the all 1000 yard day with 60 rounds in 3 matches. I will wait a bit before I contact them, but I thought it was clear that these scores would get me there, others at the match in WI concurred. If it takes more than 98.5% over 12 matches in order to get Hi-Master, I may have miss-spoken and may never get there. I apologize to any current Hi-Masters if I jumped the gun with this announcement. I put my best equipment on the line and prepared hard for that match, because I was not going to the Nationals this year.
