Kowa + Manfrotto Tripod/Head

I did a lot of thinking/questioning before committing to the setup shown below. I'm hoping these pics will help others wondering about the same thing.

This is a Kowa 82SV mounted on a Manfrotto 410 Junior geared head which is mounted on a Manfrotto 055 Pro3 tripod. Very stable and I have an easy transition from rifle scope to spotter.

Others have commented that the 055 takes up a lot of space. IMO, it's pretty compact. I even have the flexibility to slide the tripod to the left if necessary and slide the scope/center column to the right so as to keep the relative position of the spotter unchanged.

The only procedural adjustment I will need to make is moving my ammo box to the left of the rifle. The rife is set up left bolt right feed. So I will need to pass rounds from my left hand to my right hand underneath the rifle to load. Will need to see how that works in a match but initially it doesn't seem to be a problem.

I'm pleased with my choices so far.

I initially thought it would be necessary to have 1 leg under the scope to support its weight or otherwise the tripod would tip over.

Turns out tripod is stable regardless of where I swing the spotter. By positioning it between the legs, there's now a lot more room directly beneath the spotter.
