Kowa eyepieces

Have a Kowa 663, and need an eyepiece for it, want a TE-14WD for it, but don't want to fork out $300 for one, what older used eyepiece, or does anyone else's eyepiece fit the Bayonet on the Kowa 660 series?

look on the Kowa site, I have a 1.6 multiplier and an adapter 1.25 astronomical lenses got from Optics Planet .... jim

How do you like that 1.6X multiplier? I've been considering one. It would make my 20-60 into a 32-96X or some such. Used with the 27x LER it probably reduces the FOV.

The 1.6 multiplier and the 25-60 eye piece come out to 40-96 power. The great part is at 96 power is so clear and bright edge to edge it is like you never added the multiplier ..... and if you want more power you can stack the multipliers... the TSN 883 is a great spotting scope but the add ons make it better.... jim

They make adaptors to use other eye pieces..... jim
So far, what I've found is that the larger 770 and 880 series use a different (larger) mounting system, and the adapters like the 1.6 multiplier and 1.25" adapter made for that system can't be used with smaller scopes like the 660 and 600 series scopes. Looks like I'm limited to spending a a lot more for a proprietary eyepiece, or will have to sell it and use the funds to finance a different scope designed to accept them like the Pentax, Nikon, or Celestron Regal M2.

I sold a Pentax 80 mm and with the right fixed power eye piece you can see bullet holes at 400 really good... BTW you need to look a little more for the Kowa.... jim

I see you can get the 1.6 multiplier for the 600 and the 660 series.... plus lenses and adaptors.... jim
Yes That's fairly new. It's the same eyepieces as for my 82SV. Kowa has a really nice assortment of accessories for their spotters. I have the digiscoping stuff and it works really well.

Yes, they are on top of everything. They sure have some great add ons.... Heres a laugh my 883 with the multiplier I looked the other day it was 60 degrees and at 1200 yds I could see the flies buzzing around that building it is a incredible spotting scope.... jim

There are two Kowa extenders. TSN-EX16 is for the TSN-88X and TSN-77X series. TSN-EX16S is for the other spotters such as the TSN-6XX, and the TSN-82SV

Optics Planet has the TSN-EX16 at $350. That's for the 88X and 77X.

BHPhotovideo and Adorama have both models at $350 also.

the 1.6 extender or multiplier is 319.99 at Optics Planet and the Astronomical adaptor is around 25.00 and it lets use the 1.25 fixed power long eye relief eye pieces. these are superior to zoom lenses but you have to know what you need ...... B&H photo has people that know what ones will work in your spotting scope.... jim
