I have some modest spotter scopes for Bullseye but will be shooting some rimfire benchrest and some high power matches. I was ready to go with the Kowa 82SV because it is what is carried by my normal vendor and the price is right. $1,000 for the scope body is the limit, which rules out the higher end Kowas except the 66mm one with the Prominar XD lens.
Although it has a smaller objective lens, is it the way to go in this price range in order to get the more "modern" and presumably "better" Prominar lens? The $200 price difference is not an issue. I generally am old school [I still miss Studebaker and DeSoto] but am open to the newer and smaller scope if there is a tangible advantage.
Thanks for any input.
Mike
