Know any professional to refinish this old 1960's BDL stock?

There are numerous dings both on the wood and black plastic surfaces of this old 1960's Remington 700 BDL stock. I like the current stain color and want it saved or redone like that. For best results I'd prefer a pro that has worked with these old epoxy BDL stocks before and is familiar with it so it doesn't end up as a learning experience for him.

Any names come to mind? Thanks.

Nice Walnut needs a oil finish !!!!!!!

Not so says all the shotgun stocks out there in epoxies and lacquers.

"Plastic" finishes have much greater versatility than do oils or oil-modified poly.

And don't forget waxes.

Might not mind giving it a shiny tru-oil finish. First order of the day is to remove dings on the wood and on plastic surfaces. My concern is to have the stripping and refinishing done without destroying the pressed checkering, and not melting the plastic grip and forend black plastic pieces in the process with whatever stripping chemical is used. An experienced individual would be familiar with all this.

If you use a old hacksaw blade that has the edge rolled over it will quickly remove the old finish without damage to the checkering or the plastic pieces...
Then some judicial steaming, and sanding for the dents and stuff.........
If the plastic is damaged you'll need to use a Black filler to fix that.....

Preacher is THE man to listen to. He looks like he's starting to figure this stock work out judging by the pics he has posted. LOL!

Tons of info available on google. I've researched this thoroughly. In years past I already reshaped one aftermarket BDL stock I bought from Larry Potter on Ebay. Modified it with auto body glass into an AICS DM to shoot 6.5CM. The other stock I bought in the classifieds, completely stripped, stained it, and built a 1/4" MOA 22x47L varmint gun. But, I don't have the leisure time for this project.

Lord, you would think in a nation of millions of people and millions of BDL's in the last 60 years, people would offer professional services for this.

@Bc’z ! Dusty! He said “Pro”. Thanks for the confidence but the finishes are an art form I don’t have much success with. That’s why I like oil!
Besides, I’m all boxed up for my move to Texas!;)
Your rotisserie was genius!!
I think @Preacher has him dialed in.
Whenever its wood and restoration that's who always comes to mind.
Thanks for the vote of confidence!

Thanks, but you da man for crazy stain and spray! By the way, I picked up some hunks of Tiger maple. Not the Home Depot stuff, either. High grade stuff from a custom furniture maker. I’ll be in touch.;)

Things change.

lol.....yea, all through the 1990's you guys stacked them like firewood in a 50 gallon trash can in the corner of your shop. I use to see beautiful vintage BDL 7mm, 243, 22-250, 6mm, 17Rem, rifles in mint condition selling for $500 -$550 on Gunbroker 5-7 years ago. But there's a point in time when things become collectible. Have you looked for a real BDL factory stock on Ebay? The price has skyrocketed in the last 5 years. The beat to crap stocks start at about $150, and the nice specimens are selling for $200-$325, and there's not a lot to choose. I paid $75 shipped for this 7 years ago. It would sell easy now for $225.
