KIMBER MODEL 82 GOV. TARGET RIFLE

GUYS,

NEED SOME HELP. I STUMBLED ACROOS A KIMBER MODEL 82 TARGET RIFLE IN 22 LONG RIFLE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD KIMBER ONLY MADE 10,000 OF THEM AND MOST WENT TO THE MARINE CORPS TRAINING AND SHOOTING TEAM.

THE RIFLE IS IN GOOD SHAPE, SINGLE SHOT WITH HEAVY TARGET BARREL AND SET UP FOR TARGET SIGHTS AND SCOPE. STOCK IS IN GOOD SHAPE ALSO.

HOW MUCH IS ONE OF THESE RIFLES WORTH? ANYBODY?

You can buy one brand new in the wrapper for $600 from the CMP with sights.

Not knocking the CMP's program, but depending on what you want a smallbore target rifle for, you might be better served by calling MT Guns and asking about a used Anschutz. Mr. Tilton has a huge selection of used smallbore rifles, and his prices are quite fair, IMHO.

If, on the other hand, you're mainly interested in purchasing an American-made smallbore rifle, and not so much about actually using it in smallbore competition, then, by all means, give the CMP's M82s serious consideration.
