A good friend has asked me to help rebarrel a Kimber 84 M. I know little to nothing about the actions, and am hopefull some in the know will shine a light. I only have the Larry Scott action vise, which is an unbelieveable asset when working on the Remington 700. I prefer Davidson action rear entry wrench. Are the threads standard or metric on the 84 M? Thanks

Threads are standard. You’ll need a bushing in the wrench or a way to grip the action. You also need a way to turn the lug with the action. There’s a thin “foreskin” on the front of the action that will get damaged if you don’t. It’s also about .005” longer than the thickness of the lug, so do the calculations to get your headspace right.
