Kimber 82G Project

Hi,

Just a few suggestions you may want to try.

If you haven't done so Adjust the trigger, they can be adjusted for a Very Clean Break and about 1- 1 1/4 lbs trigger pull.

Torque the Action screws to 25 inch lbs. Stand the rifle up on its Butt, Holding the action into the Rifles Stock tap the stock on its butt lightly, this will set the barreled action back into the stock, Holding the action in the action so it doesn't move, First torque the front Action screw, then the rear screw. I do this in about 10 inch lb increments First 10 inch lbs front then the rear, increase torque driver to 20 inch lbs then repeat - front and then the rear, then set to 25 in lbs and repeat. If it doesn't shoot well with good ammo set at 25 inch lbs, there may be a action bedding problem that could be corrected with a Good bedding job. Bedding will also give the rifle Consistency in shooting in different temps and humidity's.

There are several shooters who have been shooting the Center-x brand Ammo and it has been shooting really well. Another ammo shooters have been reporting as shooting very well is the Federal Match. And, Of course the Eley Match black box, the more expensive ammo options generally give better consistency in shooting smaller groups.

Oh, be sure and Keep the Cocking Stud and its mating surface on the Bolt well greased. It's a wear item.

Good luck, you have a nice looking Kimber, enjoy it.
