Kidd Supergrade?

I am still going to buy a Supergrade Kidd, however a used Anschutz 1712 caught my eye and I pulled the trigger. Kidd would be more fun but I have always wanted to try a 1712. May do the Kidd soon if I can figure out how to hide the purchase from management.

I have a super grade but it only makes me sad. It just doesn’t shoot as accurately as my bench rifles. Probably will sell.

I have never owned any 22lr's that were not nice bolt sporters. Have only had one that was not super accurate. CZ 455 was the exception. We have a 452 American that shoots with most fancy sporters.

I have one. Kiddo is local to me, great customer service. Just the other week I had to drop it off with them because it wasn't cycling. They didn't exactly tell me, but I think the chamber was too tight so it wouldn't cycle. I've had it for years, just never got around to swinging by until now. They corrected the issue and I had it back 2 days later. Cycles fine now, I just have to figure out what ammo it wants to eat. I tried to run it the other day, but couldnt get it to shoot well, the barrel needs cleaned bad. They function tested it with quite a few rounds down the pipe while they were fixing it.... so it needs cleaned before I can see how it really runs. Single shot, it so far likes federal auto match the best out of anything. Half inch groups at 100 yards with a flier here and there. With a suppressor on it, its a hoot to shoot. I run an 18 inch supergrade. It aint heavy weight wise, I donno why you would want a sporter contour any.

The heart of a good-shooting 1022 is made up of a great barrel, trigger and bedding.
I've played around with these quite a bit, swapping barrels, stocks, triggers, bolts, etc.

If I did it again, I'd buy the components I settled on, more or less. Ruger action, Lilja barrel, Volquartson bolt assembly, Kidd or Volquartson trigger group and a Stocky's laminate stock (bedded).

I highly doubt any 1022 knock-off would shoot much (if any) better at any cost.
