My favorite .223 load thus far has been a 52gr Berger FB with 26.0g H4895 moving @ 3450fps. In my stock Rem700VS it shoots in the low 2's. It's a 100% load so is iffy pressure-wise with some primer cratering in temps above 75. Lapua brass and Fed primers. -Rod-

In my .223 Savage the 70 grain Berger VLD on top of 25.5 grains of Varget/CCI 450/ Winchester brass groups just a tad better than using the Sierra 69 grain Match King on top of the same combination.
