KG 12 Copper remover

Does K12 contain any odor?

Reason I asked is I've never tried it and I'm interested but if it has a strong odor it would be problem for me. I switched from Shooter's Choice about 2 years ago to Bore Tech Carbon and Copper Remover because they're odorless - wifey has a breathing condition and the ammonia in Shooter's Choice was bothering her badly. Also I found that the Bore Tech products were far superior to Shooter's Choice in removing both carbon and copper fouling which is probably no surprise to many on this site. Thanks for any input.
There’s a smell but it’s the most mild of the cleaners I’ve used. No where near as strong as something like shooters choice or hoppes. Way, way, less than sweets.

I now use KG12 and don't use the Sweet's 7.62 as often as I used to.

Sweet's 7.62 was a workhorse for us for many years till KG12 came along. Both are very effective.
The KG12 is just easier to use by being less harsh on the operator...

I recently have tried wet patching with accelerator, followed by wet patch of Carb out. Let it work for 5-10 minutes. Kroil wet patch gets a lot of black crud. A patch of accelerator and then the wipe out foam, let it work for 15-20 minutes(hunting rifles). Patch it out with kroil, a couple dry patches. Last a wet patch of Hornady one shot cleaner and lube. Ready to store and then shoot.

I use kroil to soak sometimes on stubborn fouling. Overnight it can get under fouling and allow it to be brushed out.

I’ve gotten very good results with KG12. It removes copper as quickly or more quickly than anything else I’ve tried, usually without requiring a brush. (Yes, I have a bore scope). That it doesn’t reek of ammonia is another plus.
Thanks for the post!. I was hoping someone with a bore scope would reply. I see a lot of inexpensive bore scopes on Amazon. Are any of them worth a few $$?

I don't know. I have a hawkeye, which was painful to buy but it works very well and it's very well put together. The only downside is that if I were to want to take pictures with it, the only option that I know of is Hawkeye's very expensive add on, which isn't worth it. That, and the price tag.

The cheap chinese ones seem to do plenty well - you can see the 45 degree mirror in the field of view, which is a little janky, and the jury is still out on how durable they are, but they take pictures and provide adequate resolution. People seem pretty happy with them. I'm sure someone who has one can provide more info on the details. If I didn't already have a hawkeye, I'd go with the Teslong. The savings are worth the risk (to me). They've been around long enough that I think we'd be hearing complaints by now if they were going to fall apart. If money isn't an issue, just get a Hawkeye.
