If it stops working at one point or another, and you have the skill to do so, take it apart, clean it thoroughly, reassemble and shoot away. To be brief, I DID have the big spring break, but on disassembly, I noticed a whole lot of gunk and grease in the trigger assembly which may not have hurt things but certainly didn't help. I use a bore guide and a old cotton tee shirt to make sure it doesn't occur. Obviously, I was wrong.

Check that trigger more often than never. You might be surprised.

A bore guide for cleaning will keep cleaning solvents out of the trigger mechanism. The only source for gunk is cleaning solvent.

Maybe on a target rifle but a hunting rifle is prone to picking up all sorts of good stuff. I saw a 700 that would fire as the bolt was closed, disassembly of action to the stock let a weed stem drop out. Best trigger cleaner that Ive found is lighter fluid.

Once the trigger is apart, it is not hard at all to clean it up, wipe it dry, and very lightly lubricate (to start the cycle all over again).

Yes, I do. Initial recommendations to clean a Bix'n Andy trigger were to use lighter fluid (naptha). Currently they recommend brake cleaner. I use brake cleaner. Works good, dries fast.

Some triggers have plastic parts in them so break cleaner would raise hell. If you know all parts are not plastic or rubber the go with the break cleaner. I like to use starting fluid for the same reason but it does not seem to melt rubber and plastic parts. Dries completely in seconds and leaves nothing behind.

Flush out with Charcoal lighter fluid for Jewell triggers , leaves a very very light lubricant .

Slightly off topic, Shotgun reloads...Be careful w the small size #9 stuff..One pellet leaked out of a reload & locked up my Ithaca model 37 pump action Trigger mech..Royal PIA during a shoot....I have not forgotten that afternoon...mike in Ct

Ok I use Ronsonol lighter fluid on the trigger. Are you saying charcoal lighter fluid is the same thing,or is better and leaves a lubricant?

I watched a YouTube blog with two guys talking about this and they said that on the Jewel web site the company recommends the charcoal starter. Better and cheaper. I didn't verify, but I haven't rinsed off my trigger yet either. IMO most triggers become a problem if they are stored standing muzzle pointing up when the barrel is left with a light coating a lubricant. It will migrate down and into the trigger.

I used Ronsonol lighter fluid but the charcoal fluid is supposed to be better , both are fine . When I get some charcoal fluid I will give my trigger a flush .Sorry I didn't get back sooner .

This is interesting and good to know. It will certainly be easier to find the charcoal lighter fluid. Both naphtha based ?

Just on a side note, the cheaper charcoal fluid won’t start charcoal worth a crap. So there going to be a different makeup between brands.

Sadly had a leaking bore guide and caused a lot of crud on my wonderful Anschutz trigger, so lighter fluid or break cleaner, I will look for plastic parts but think it is all white metal

Brake cleaner will not harm plastic- carb cleaner will though. Keep your rifle angled down when cleaning. A rimfire boreguide does not seal in the chamber like a centerfire does so you need to be even more careful. Flush the annie trigger out real good with brake cleaner then flood with kingsford and shake it out
