Keep a Suppressor on Tight?

Hi all,

I had a sloppy(loose) threading job done on my barrel and now the suppressor comes loose during a string of fire (20 or more shots). Are there any good ways to get the suppressor to stay on better? One suggestion was blue loctite.

DO NOT use a crush washer, bad things will happen to your suppressor, my solution was to use a jam nut, both my 308 and 260 are threaded for Tubb Brakes, the Tubb is adjustable like a barrel tuner, I use the jam nut that comes with the brake to secure my Shark Suppressor on my rifles, my can has never come loose.

I'm going to try a Nord-Lock: http://www.nord-lock.com/ I"ll use a mic on them beforehand to check consistency. But, for $10, it could be a simple solution.

Thanks,
Scooter

If a gunsmith cut your threads and they are loose for the reason you had it threaded in the first place then go back and tell him/her this. Be respectful but ask how we can fix it. Hopefully your smith will recut your threads and it is a 15 minute job so you shouldn't be there all day. bring the can so that your smith can get an accurate reading off of the threads and not just go standard size. When you can get the measurements direct off the peice to be attached threading can be done to much tighter tolerances.

Can it be re-threaded without cutting the barrel shorter? I'm assuming they have to start over and don't want the barrel any shorter.
