Kahles vs Steiner vs S&B vs March etc etc....

That will depend on the model of the scope from each maker. Each one offers quality, and high end quality.

I use 2 from March on comp. guns where I am happy for the lighter weight. The fixed 50 in on a 10.5lb 6ppc lv. The 36-55 EPZ is on a 17lb. lv 1000yd BR gun. Both show to be a solid dependable scope sporting a FCH. The Kahles 624 gen 2 with the Kahles MSR reticle in my opinion is as good as it gets and is also on the lighter side of that type of scope. The parallax feature on the Kahles is unique and works perfect for running a squeezable rear bag with either hand. I have looked through the others mentioned but have no time with them on a gun. High end is high end......Can really go wrong with any of them.

Best of luck
Rick

Im wanting yo know how kahles stacks up against the rest... glass wise, tracking wise, full run down... curious..

More information please. You're not being specific. Tactical scopes, hunting scopes, target scopes? What specifically are you interested in?

Sb pm2 5-25vs the kahles in the sameish setup vs the march. Tactical military type scopes... not as far as competition/target

I prefer the Kahles K624 over the S&B 5-25. There's no tunnelling on the Kahles, the illumination is daytime usable, I prefer the parallax mounted on top of the scope, being a lefty that was a big bonus. I prefer the feel of the turrets on the Kahles and I also find it to be a very easy scope to get behind and acquire a clear sight picture. Glass? Some people whinge about the Kahles having bad CA. I never looked for it or noticed it, just found the glass to be easy on the eye and the scope easy to use.

The March 5-40 is an impressive optic but the reticle choices are not to everyone's liking, moreso the guys that shoot PRS.

Like Willow, I love the set of features on my Kahles, additionally the SKMR 3 with the .2 mil markings has made it easier to be "more precise" on wind/small target holds. My Steiner M 5 has the msr reticle I think the glass is as good or perhaps better than the Kahles but both are very good to my eyes. I like the features better on the Kahles tho.
Both passed tall target tests with flying colors.

Another scope worth looking into is NF F1 Atacr, superb glass. Again reticle selection lacks, but the 5-25 has the mil c, floating dot and .2 holds. The 7-35 should have it next yr.

In that vein of scope....it would be worth your while looking through the Swarovski X5 5-25x56. I have been quite impressed with mine. My other choice was the S&B PMII or Kahles 624. You can't go wrong with any of these but you can probably be satisfied by other makes if you want to spend less $$$.

I suspect he's keen on a FFP scope going by his options so far.
