Anyone order the Kahles K864 yet?
This is the first scope that I've ever looked through and said I have to have it.I really want to, but the simultaneous release of the March 8-80x Gen2 is muddying the water on my decision making.
Yep, it was pretty much designed for F class, but still 5 ounces lighter than the Majesta.I was waiting for the specs to come out, looks like the LG benchrest crowd was left behind at 36.9oz it probably will not make the 17lb class without some gymnastics and only one choice of reticle as of now.
Jim, would please elaborate on this? This is the first scope that I've ever looked through and said I have to have it.
Clay, I looked through it at SWN also. The field of view is impressive. I always thought the 10-50 was a little dark compared to the NF comp and the March Highmaster but the 864 was nice and bright at 55 power, which is where I usually shoot at. I own a Zco and always thought that glass was the best I've ever looked through but the 864 riveled it.Jim, would please elaborate on this?
I talked to a fella who looked through on at the SWN and he said it was "BAD AZZ".
Is the clarity better then the 10-50 at higher magnification?
Of course it is early, maybe too early to know, but who well does it hold?

Awesome news! Who did you order from?First run of K864 are in the U.S. and shipping to retailers. Mine arrives Thursday.
Reminds me of the old story of the guy who would not wear his glasses because he didn't want to use them up.$5000+.
With the March Majesta and a couple of more, we are getting in to new pricing territory with Scopes.
After the TackDriver, I took my Majesta off my 6PPC and put it in the box.
It’s too darned expensive to shoot any where else.![]()
I would love to hear how it compares to a March Majesta if you get the opportunity!Got a chance to spend lots of time behind a borrowed Kahles 864 today.
Swapped the 864 with my K1050 back and forth at 1000 yards. Best in class field of view is amazing. You can see 2 full targets more at 1000 at 40-50 power with the 864 than the K1050. In F Class that is important. It's almost like looking through a spotting scope. Because my eyes are crap (cataracts, astigmatism, severe myopia and low light sensitivity) I normally can normally only shoot 35 to 40 magnification max with any scope including my Nightforce Competitions and Vortex Golden Eagles. With the 864 I was able to comfortably use 50 power, seeing a brighter field of view than ever before. The parallax knob is also larger which allows an easier grip on the adjuster. It is also easier to dial into the setting for the yardage you want to see mirage at. Mirage reading ability was extremally good. Kahles retained their wonderful 20 MOA turrets which I love. Eye relief was amazing like the K1050. No need to struggle to find the sweet spot. The downside is the 36mm tube does restrict your ring selection. Also, the distance between the turrets and the ocular lense is much longer than the K1050. That means you may need a cantilever scope mount if you like your scope far forward on the rail.
Yes, this scope is a lot of money. I believe for f Class it's worth it, hey you only live once.
