Kahles K1050 MOAK reticle for Benchrest...

Anyone have any experience with the MOAK reticle for Benchrest? I have been using a Nightforce Competitions with crosshairs and would like to try a Kahles K1050.
Thanks in advance...

Many use them. i have shot with a few just for the experience. First thing to notice is the eye box is much like a Vortex Golden Eagle. Little bit critical but clear when you get it right. it is not as forgiving as the Nightforce Competition.

Brightness is also a notch below the Nightforce Competition. You will find it much like the general run of others. What I am telling you is it's a good scope with a reputation for solid mechanics. It is not as forgiving and bright optically as a Nightforce competition.

If you like your Nightforce and are used to it you just might be a bit disappointed in most other benchrest scopes. There are different reticles for the Competition models. Check them out.

I hope they are good, I just bought one with an MOAK rectical for a rimfire BR gun. I used a nightforce 12-42 for years and had good luck with it, then tried a golden eagle. For some reason I've been wanting to try the Kahles out.

Its a floating dot with hash marks for holding off. Most guys seem like like a floating dot reticle. The best thing about the reticle in a Kahles is that it doesnt move unless you turn the turrets.

I bought 2 K1050's but for what I shoot, (SR score) the MOAK is way too busy a reticle. I had my dad's cousin in Italy buy me two and ship them over here. One has a double dot and the other a regular crosshair and dot. I'm not all that impressed with the glass which is about the same as my Marches. I've owned about a dozen Kahles hunting scopes and they were the brightest, clearest scopes that I ever owned. The K1050 to me is a bit of a let down. The NF Comp is a lot brighter and clearer without a doubt.

Eyes differ of course but for me I feel my Kahles 10-50 is brighter than my NF Comp was. Personally I wouldn’t go back to the NF after shooting with my Kahles. I love the reticle too. I just wrote part of this for another post but there’s more to the scope than just clarity (which is often subjective anyway).

The Kahles 10-50 has 20moa per revolution with a great zero stop and indicator system. Full use of the entire zoom range with no falloff (many popular scopes in the $1200-$2500 range can’t do this). Did I mention I love the reticle. Top of scope parallax adjustment is cool too. I can’t remember the last time I had any chromic aberration....It’s also one of the only scopes out there that utilizes a four spring adjustment system so you never have spring-back or whatever people call it after an elevation adjustment. A lot of popular scopes move a little after the first shot following a turret change because they utilize a single leaf style spring on the elevation but the Kahles has this amazing four spring system that eliminates that. I’ve found a lot of people that sell them don’t even know that about that. I wouldn’t have known except I attended a Kahles sales meeting and it was discussed. Most of the Kahles scopes don’t utilize it but the 10-50 Moak does (I believe it was something they brought over from Swarovski).

I’ve owned several GEs and a couple NF comps and they’re all great too. I just prefer my Kahles for a variety of reasons. YMMV and that’s cool too.
