Kahles 1050 2.5" Sunshade Threads

I recently purchased a 2.5" sunshade for a Kahles 1050 scope. The sunshade arrived and has a threaded insert that threads into the scope objective with the sunshade threading into the insert. The insert is left hand threads where it threads into the objective and right hand threads where the shade threads into the insert. Very unusual I thought. Just wanted to pass this on

Mine is the same. No left hand thread.

I use two factory sunshades. They can be added together to extend as much as you like. Not a cheap option though.

Every other scope I have ever owned had a sunshade that simply screwed in. This is odd especially in hearing that others have a straight screw in, regular thread. Makes me wonder what I bought

A cheaper option is an Exact fit
NF Competition shade.
The NF is half inch longer, and an ever so slightly shinier finish, but barely noticable.

What’s even crazier is that four of us have bought new K1050s from a dealer and three had no sunshade included but one did. No rhyme or reason why. But at $60 we figure our buddy got a heck of an Easter egg or three of us just got unlucky.

The Kahles K1050 does not come with a sunshade. One of you got lucky.
