Kahles 10-50 MOAK vs 525i

Looking to upgrade from my Sightron SIII's on my match rifles. Shoot 200-500, sometimes 700 meters. I know the power is not needed, but pushing 70 in a couple years, it helps!!! Is the glass quality equal for both scopes ? It seems to me the price difference is fairly small between the 2 , and sometimes it indicates changes in component quality. Anyway, any input from someone who has looked through both, would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks, rsbhunter

Ok, if no one has experience with both, can someone give me an opinion on glass quality between the Sightron SIII and either of the above at 500 yards and beyond......? Thanks, rsbhunter

The Kahles 10x50 will take a dump on the S3 it has very good glass....no comparison..I had the Kahles and sold it cheap should have kicked my own arse

get the NF comp lots are selling and going to the March Majesta, the comp is a great scope you can get them for 1700 and cheaper now

I still have the NF comp keeping it, wish I never let the moak go but bought a March 40x60 HM I really like it

Both Kahles scopes are great. I have the 10-50 and I also have 3 Sightrons. I don't have a 5251 as I want the extra magnification. And yes, the Kahles is better than the S3's...better contrast and fewer chromatic aberations

Another option to upgrade is the Sightron SV111 with the ED glass.

My best upgrade - getting cataracts removed - it's worth getting a check up!

I have both, K 10-50 on my heavy Dasher and 525i on my Tactical gun
But I shoot NF Comps on my BRA competition guns, great bright glass and I like the DDR2 reticle....not familiar with Sightron

I use both a Sightron Slll and the Khales 10-50. The Khales 10-50 is noticeably superior to the Sightron Slll beyond about 200 yards, and especially when the power is turned up. Although it is a great scope, I traded a Nightforce competition with the FCR-1 reticle because the reticle was just too fine and hard to see on a black target center with my 70 year old eyes. What I got in exchange was a Sightron SVSSED 10-50x60. This is a heavy scope but to me it is as good as either the Khales or the Nightforce Competition. Glass on these scopes is pretty much a matter of personal preference but I really like the adjustment features (parallax, turrets and zero stop) on the Khales.

Pete, I'm knocking on 70, and thank God I still have good vision, it's not like 40 years ago. That's why I'm looking at Kales. I did make the mistake of looking through a ZCO, don't EVER do that. If I was rich, I'd have about $20k tied up in those or Tangent Theta. Any way, on the SV line of Sightrons, they stopped putting reticle i likein them, so ig guess I'll bite the bullet the and go Kahles 10-50 MOAK.

I have a Kahles 1050 and a 624i. Have used them both in 600 yard F Class. Both fantastic scopes. I use the 1050 more. Having the extra magnification when conditions allow it is nice when shooting for score matters
