K&M Priming/Gauge Tool

Terry

Gold $$ Contributor
I recently learned how to use this tool.
Have any of you tested seating primers with this tool VS other primer seating tools?
What I'm looking for is firing results, not a discussion on seating depth.
Group size and SD/ES are of interest.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Any others?

I have talked with several using this tool. I have yet to talk with anyone who has tested this.

Don't know if one shot a tad left really means anything with any certainty....

I've been using the K&M Priming Tool for more than 5 yrs now, especially on my 6mmbr. I also use the RCBS Hand Primer for both .223 and larger calibers. To further clarify, I load strictly for 100 yds shooting which is all I do anymore. Shortly after buying the K&M Priming Tool, I did some comparison/testing of targets shot using both priming tools. And honestly, like Tom, I saw no significant and definitive differences or a better result, even adjusting the seating depth of the primers on K&M Tool. Though far from scientific, my testing showed me no advantage either way, although I do like the "feel" of the K&M Tool better that gives me a bit more "feel" of how loose or tight the primer pockets are on my brass. I accomplish that by holding the K&M Tool in my right hand and pressing the seating lever with my thumb, as opposed to resting the RCBS Hand Primer in the web of my right hand and using four finger to squeeze the seating lever inward to seat a primer.
