Tell me what you think, as compared to the old Whitetail Industries version-yep, I lost mine somewhere...the original holder, with the tiny set screw would never stay snug, and I haven't an idea where it went...darn.

Sinclair is sold out, and I just can't wait!I've ordered the K&M, but I hope to find where I lost the Sinclair/whitetail copy!
It makes sense to use 2thou under for primer cup to case head. You don't want primers extending beyond case head. But this is only as a loose reference -and where your pockets are set correctly.littletoes said:The Sinclair use to claim .002" below the rim of the cartridge, which has worked for years for me.

There is a correct value, and a rational tolerance to it.
SAAMI range for sm pockets is .117-.123", that's .120+/-.003.
It appears as well as I can measure that Sinclair's small pocket cutters are .123" and Lg pocket cutters are .128" deep.
Lapua pockets are often within SAAMI spec.
We should cover the basics in reloading first, and not go to reinventing primer pocket depths without credible basis(that I'm sure we would all know about by now).
