There's a write up from the bulletin board awhile back concerning a policewoman from Texas that shot a record cold bore group with the 375 CheyTac. A little vertical but her wind calls were Awesome.

This rifle is extremely accurate. Has a Douglas match barrel No. 2 contour, 12" twist and a B&C stock. I shot 10 rounds at 100 yards, sitting off my cross sticks. Using my scoring system, I scored a 10x10-6X (10 = shot in the 1 1/2 ring, X = shot in 1" ring. I had a 10 to 15 mph cross wind with medium boil mirage to deal with.

Load: 25 grains of Varget, 55 Nosler BT, Federal 205M primers, seated .015" off the lands. All shots cold bore shots. I was not load developing; this is an established load I've used forever. I was practicing off my sticks.

I would post the target but because I am computer dumb and dumber and have a Lively Flip phone, I never figured out how to post picture on here. I can text pictures, however and Mr. Coonman300 posted them for me in the past when I got comments, "no picture - it never happened". Well, something happened. There is no reason to boast, I long ago stop trying to impress people; there's no profit in that endeavor.

There is still a fellow on here that had some components to create a 20mm/50 project, if I was 4x richer, I might have jumped at the chance.
The FCSA is still alive and kicking, and we hold a half dozen matches all over the states. I am currently getting ready for a trip to the Desoto parish region of AL, for my first ever visit to long range alley. shooting heavy and unlimited classes with a 50# (49.85 pounds to be exact) Mcmillian rifle I bought a few years back. I am still using some bulk LC brass, and pushing 802 grain copper solids with a mere 226grains of reloader50 ( most guys are up in the 240-ish grain load) but my rifle manages to push them over 2700fps, so I am happy with it. . With the price of things currently, its till under $5/round, and luckily we only shoot 30 scoring rounds per class, but I will still end up pounding away $700 worth of ammo in two short days, so I can only afford about 3-4 matches this year
There is no "load development" for me, I load some test rounds incrementally until the I see signs of ejector marks, or the bolt is too hard to lift, then back off a few grains.
Talking about muzzle blast, the AR50's muzzle break is about the best there is, reducing blast to a tolerable level, but there are a few guys shooting "fish gill" style breaks, and shooting next to one of them is INTENSE to say the least, you'll feel that muzzle blast in your teeth, and nasal passages, so I try to avoid sitting near those guys. Foam plugs, AND muffs are recommended..

375CT@100 yards, hope it was a new rig and just roughing in a scope. Other wise, my question is, why?
I have seen guys shoot 50BMG @100&200, why? Not even stretching its legs. Then show me a group that is shall we say, large. I just say yup, that’s a wallet target or go home and put it on the side of the refrigerator.

Last time I was at my local range this guy pulled out a brand new 50 BMG bolt gun. His prior experience was with lever actions and with iron sights. He had never shot a bolt gun before and had no idea how to sight in a scope. After he wasted a couple boxes of ammo I offered to help him out. Damn that's a loud gun. I made the mistake of sitting behind but off to the side... right in the blast zone from the brake and was getting minor concussions every time he shot. Directly behind was a little better. After helping him get it zeroed in at 100 yards he let me shoot a few rounds. Recoil was very tolerable with that brake. No idea what his motivation was to get that gun, didn't ask. He probably shot $150 worth of ammo that day. After that I went home for some Advil for my headache.
