Dont know why it posted pics like it did. Also would not let me post the pic of the coyote.
No an oil wel that got drilled a year ago. Thats picture was taken were the coyote laid. I shot from about 20 yds from that tank. That a natural gas well in the back 40 ?
The load was a sierra 70 gr hpbt hbn coated with pp 2000mr powder. Not sure of the specifics they have been on my shelf for about 5 yrs. The zero was a hundred. But dont know how exact have not had time to sit down and really test the rig with all the new stuff done to it. Just kinda threw it together and got lucky.Awesome feeling to drop a coyote that far out hey? I haven't been able to shake this addiction and probably wont until my body cant do it anymore. What load were you using in the .243? Zerod at 100 or 200?

In 2013 shortly after discovering this website. I needed to buy a gun for hunting, seeing as i had taken my other hunting rifle and turn it into something you not care to carry. My budget was small and decided on a Ruger American Predator in .243 bought it online and had it shipped. When i got it. I was disappointed with just how cheap it really was. I mounted a cheap nikon scope to it and fire lapped the barrel. It shot ok but nun the less still was good enough to get the job done but never could really find a load that would do better than 1 moa. So last year i decided to try to get a little more out of the hunting rig. So i ordered a boyds stock with AI bottom metal. Vortex 4-16x ffp scope. I disasembled the gun. Did a trigger job. Bedded the stock. And lapped and bedded the scope ring. Today made the wait all worth it. I was at the farm and saw what i thought was a young deer toward the back of one of the wheat fields. So i stop and reached for my glass and saw two coyotes. I hopped out grabbed my gun and looked through the scope guessing the distance i dial 2.75 moa up and put the the cross hairs on one of them he was moving about half stride to my right. I fired one off impact nailed him. The second one was now running at full stride to my left i got him in my sights gave him a lead and fire but it was not enough just missed him behind just a little. So i began to range were the first coyote was that i hit. It was 475 yards out. I am thrilled. Never got a kill at that distance shurley not a hit that was improvised from a setup i had no dope or complete load development for. Any body else have some story like this i would like to hear them please share.View attachment 1166039 View attachment 1166040 View attachment 1166039 View attachment 1166040 View attachment 1166039 View attachment 1166040
