Just want advice

A few years back I purchased a AREA 419 built 6BR.

Impact Precision
Trigger Tech Diamond
Bartlien 26" heavy barrel
Foundation stock
ARC rail
Approximate rounds shot 600

Any who........I was going to do some long range bench shooting but have decided to go a different route. I know it's hard to get what you paid for something so I am asking you fellas what would be a fair price for this rifle or would it be better to tear it down and sell off in pieces.

It is hard to break up something you built thinking it was great in all respects. But unless you find a like minded person, it will be hard to sell. I would try to change it to something I want now, like maybe a different cartridge.

Seems a reasonable price would be (for equipment still in demand), is taking what it cost to build such a rifle, less the cost of a new barrel. It is generally assumed the gun shoots poorly - unless one knows the seller to be a "straight shooter". But if a good build with good equipment, a barrel can make it into a rifle of new. Of course, that doesn't apply to factory rifles - where the cost to put on a custom barrel may exceed the cost of the entire rifle.

It’s really hard to sell stuff right now, especially on here for some reason.

I generally remove the entire cost of the barrel/chambering/threading and start there.

Used bench rifles seem to sell really cheap, while used varmint and tactical rifles sell better. Just need the right person to come along.

Sell the foundation stock, they are well liked and should be easy to sell. Sell the barrel, might take a bit of a beating there but they do sell. Find a lighter stock or chassis and put a lighter shouldered prefit on that Impact. You probably can do it for very little out of pocket.

I have seen that as well. I have told varmint hunting buddies the best place to get a super accurate varmint rifle is to buy a used 6BR or such on this site. Target rifles can be the best varmint rifles if shot off a bench as many do anyway.

A lot of guys will list it complete for the price they'd be comfortable selling it for. If it doesn't sell, then offer to part it out or put it in the safe and try again in a couple months. Also, Gunbroker has a lot of shooters/buyers that aren't on forums IME.
