Just some p-dogs.

Been shooting them every day off since we let up on coyote in March.
Ranches I have are swarming w/them, same on state lands that are closed to driving also (if the state didn't feed them poison!)
This ranch is a easy 45min-hour walking in on the 2 tracks, so its not for the weak hearted or I gotta have a bench/chair type & 20lb rig. Hundred of valleys full of them fat rats & 100s more of little ones grouped on mounds just sitting there eating grasses or kissing. Yup many 2-5 w/1 shot flyers.
About as virgin as they can get as every p-dog shooter who is told NO driving you will need to walk drives off which is even better for a few of us that run a pack & shoot prone.
I shoot a suppressed Savage , .223, 50g vmax, Nikon 6-18x40 mildot, 24" Er shaw rig I built last year.
I ran 227 shots and my pal w/his 243 AI ran 236 rounds into them from 630 am to 11 am before calling it quits.
Ill add more vids when phototbucket decides to load them...that site has gone to the dogs for ease of usage.
Dang I forgot to add we were shooting from 69 to 545 yards ranged.

It does not get any better than prone shooting Virgin Prairie Dogs.. talk about up close and personal.. and the difference -50 yds makes to what a 40 gr or whatever Vmax does..OMG..Those long walks are certainly worth it.. Good stuff!!

We are over ran with em around here.. I haven't been shooting em every day but most days.. It is my belief that the early warm weather created an extra batch. I am seein em in dog towns that have been empty for years.. I spent at least three days up at my sis's ranch cleaning out three pastures.. Then a badger showed up.. Just what she didn't want.. Went up to get mr. badger but he slipped away..

I heard and read conflicting info on prairie dogs breeding cycles / peroids.. Anyone on here that has correct info on breeding cycles? One or two a year.. what age to start, etc?

Here's a tree hugger BLM guy report that states the white tailed variety breed once a year. Black tails from another report are the same. Once a year. So much for my theory.

Really thank you for the video view.

Pam and I did not get out there again this year. Sure hope I can again some time before I run outta time.

Enjoy your reports, pictures and videos.
