Just snag a deal, I think. Rem 700 ADL

So my wife was going into Best Buy to buy a new computer. I went into Dicks. I am generally less than blown away with anything they have, but I figured I would check the ammo.

I was able to snag a 700 ADL varmint package, the one with the cheap scope and base, for $349. It is chambered in .223.

I have been wanting a .223 bolt gun for deer( they are very small here) and coyotes
I know the stock and scope are getting trashed. I can’t decide on a stock or a chassis.

I got the same package gun from one of our Walmarts on clearance for $79!! Yes $79. And 2 3006 ones for $99 each

I got a 3006 package for 99 and a 770(300wm) for 53. Sold the 770 to a dealer for 200.

that was a good deal especially for one with a varmint barrel. Walmart was clearing out 700s a month or 2 ago. I got a 700adl with field barrel in 223 for 300---- Wish i could have found the 99.00 deals but didnt see any of them around here. You may be eligable for one of the Rem rebates going on now. check them out

This rifle was bought with the intent that it is going to the gunsmith and will have a new stock on it before I ever fire a shot. I will probably keep the barrel. I am under no impression this thing will print a .25 group.

I bought it as a 100 yard gun to just shoot groups. It might drop the occasional coyote. I am hoping I can get it to group about .5 at 100 yards. with the 1:12 barrel, I plan on shooting Sierra Match king 52grain.

I am thinking about getting the Boyds Varmint pro. Thoughts?

For the prices listed I would shop anywhere , I won't pretend to boycott anyone .
