Just got home from MCRD Parris Island......

Here's the thing...I support Colin K's right to protest. Heaven knows there's plenty in America that needs protesting, not the least of which are the "gun free zones" in inner cities and schools and black churches by which liberals have created free fire zones and shooting galleries - to say nothing of the the black genocide known as "abortion." That all NEEDS protesting.

But Colin K has 10,080 minustes per week to protest anything he wants to. Why choose the 3 minutes of our national anthem, which honors the flag that our soldiers serve and *die* under?

Why not protest in a way that does NOT get in the face of our military personnel and other patriots? How about he take a knee on the first snap of the football game. Sure it'll cost him something, but you can *bet* when he explains why he did it in teh post game interview , it *will* get American talking about his compaint du jour. *IF* what he really wants is the public discussion of his protest, THAT WILL do it.

Protests that cost you nothing personally and cause insult to others are NOT noble actions. And the NFL's "Salute to Service" rings empty with dozens of players pulling these stunts.

Some of you guys get it and some don’t. The right to free speech is just that. There are limits to the right, but we have to be very careful when we start pushing for restrictions of the constitutional right to say things some find offensive. The same push can be made to restrict other rights.

Each of you that claim to be strict constructionist of the Constitution should be willing to fight for Colin’s right to kneel as strongly as you would fight for the right to bear arms. They are both basic constitutional rights.

The right to free speech does not apply to your job. It applies to protest of the government.

Go tell your boss he is a lazy jerk. See how quickly you get fired. That is not a right of free speech.

The 1st amendment protects us from the government removing our right of free speech ... not private employers or organizations or corporations or individuals.

Your employer also has the right to deny you concealed carry in his building on his premises and in his employment.

Kaeps employer was both the 49 ers and the NFL. Both have the right to tell him to shut up and stand up.

The bill of rights has to do with the citizen's relationship with his government and little else.

My wife said I just like to argue. I said no I don’t; you started it. In that vein, I “graduated” Army Boot Camp Fort Knox, KY in July of 1963. I don’t know what platoon number that would be if we even had a number. We were all patriotic and this “grunt” is still patriotic. I still stand for the National Anthem and that keeps me too busy to see what the other guy is doing. I don’t think highly of professional athletes whether they play with a oval ball or a round ball if just with their own balls. I watch them seldom and never pay to watch them. So take a knee if you wish Colin, you’re still a slave if you believe the evening news.

I did ask an owner once where are the armed guards to protect us when he told us we could not have firearms on his property. I also asked when did ND grant him an exemption to the law that states you can have a firearm in your vehicle even if the employer bans them in ND.

I found a photo that's a few years old...since this thread has come back to life I just thought some of you fellas might get a kick out of this picture. This is my son Jack saluting his cousin Vince Adams. Jack served as ring bearer at Vinnie's wedding on this day. Sgt. Adams is out of the Marines now, but he served as a scout sniper in Ramadi, Fallujah and Afghanistan. Marines.jpg

Platoon 3007. 1994 MCRD San Diego. Humping those damn hills is still the hardest thing I physically have ever done. The Reaper, Mount MF’r, Recon Ridge they all sucked. I saw guys throw cigarette packs out of their pockets to lighten the load.
