Just bought a Sheridan Silver Streak. Who rebuilds these?

Josh B I went to Gary's and shot his QB78s. Had midway USA gift cards from the girls for fathers day and bought 2 QB78s, one had bad seals from the factory. I have very good service from Flying Dragon Air Rifles. He completely disassembled cleaned and replaced all seals and shipped it home for less than $50. That was a few years ago so my be more now but I talked to the guy on the phone and he was first rate. call and talk to him see if he works on the Sheridans.

Bought a Sheridan a year ago, works well. I had some pellets from the one I had as a kid that has gotten misplaced when I moved decades ago!!

A while back there was a guy called Mac 1 airguns. They did custom builds, tunes, repairs. I had an older blue streak repaired, then at one point I bought their 'steriod tuned' blue streak that went up to near 1000 fps with 10 pumps if I remember right. Not sure if they are still around, that was probably 20 years ago now.

Yes,he is still around.

I went back, today. Evidently, my purchase tickeled the owners interest. He told me Silver Streaks could go for $800. I countered with old and rusty doesn’t get that price. We dickered. In the end, I bought three guns for $75 each. A Blue Streak, that needs a bolt for the pump handle. I’m searching for that. A 342 in good shape, but it needs new seals to work. The most interesting was an old 310. Nickel finished brass, stock in fair condition but needs a redo. My research shows this one as an early model. Some say “Rare” and more grandiose sales sh&t. Might be special. Still researching.

He had one nice “Blue Streak” with no rust, some marks on the stock that he kept in the humidity controlled room. He wants $250. I took pics:

I would expect this needs new seals. I bought 2 kits to do that at $30/ each.

Nice haul! Even his asking price for the nice Blue Streak is decent. Picks of yours?
I’ll post tomorrow. I got home, the wife hit me with chores and I’m done for the day. Three guys wanted a pellet gun. I went for them. We’re you the guy in Cali?
Sorry! That was divingin.

I bought one each of blue streak, silver streak, at auction off of just the pics. Got them and they were rough but I rebuilt them both. I still have the silver streak, sold the blue streak for 10x what I paid for the pair. The rebuild kits come with great instructions and the tool to get the thing apart as well IIRC.

Yup. It looked easy. I watched a vid. It will take 1/2 hour or so.

The new old guns:

These guns are a fun little project. I’ll start on the stock refinish after I get the new seals in.

Baker air rifles will sell you the parts needed to reseal. I already resealed both my 397 and 392.

I had one back in the day. Accurate and decently powerful. I shot a lot of feral pigeons with mine. It would crush them.

And..., I still one one that was made right here in Racine, WI., ( where I live. My boy used to shoot squirrels with it back then. I put a Williams peep on it and still shoot rabbits in my garden. The 5mm pills are kind of hard to find, but I have almost a full box.

I have a request to buy 2. I may find more. How many should I buy? You tell me. Who wants one?

I could use a pleasant drive to the hill country, Josh. Has he got enough stuff left to make it interesting? I've still got a Sheridan with scope from the 60's, still shoots. It may need a playmate.

Well, he has a room full of guns that will make you weak in the knees. He’s been in the gun business for a long time and had several stores. What he has is the best of the best. He calls it his retirement fund. I can’t and won’t argue pricing with him. I think he’s a bit high, but I think all Texas gun shops are a bit high in their pricing. He has everything from Garands to ARs. Old SAA Colts to custom 10mm autos with real Ivory grips. I could spend days looking over his guns. It’s like a museum.
As far as the air guns go, I cleared his table of the “good ones”. He has 6-8 of the higher end pellet rifles in his vault room. RWS and such. I didn’t ask for pricing on them. I just have a few squirrels to shoot. I’m going to rebuild a couple of these and call it square.
I mostly like to talk guns with the guy. It’s my little respite from being stuck at home with the wife.

I found a slightly rusted 5mm one for $50. Barrel looks great. Doesn’t pump air. I remember something posted recently about a company that rebuilds these. Does any one have info! Thanks
Josh
Please PM me if you find a location that services these pump guns. I have a blue streak purchased brand new years ago. Looks like new still but I've used it alot and it doesn't hold air. 8 pumps is maybe really only 3-4 pumps of power. Probably seals but I'm not familiar with repairing them so would have a qualified person do it. Thanks. John

I found the repair kits at Pyramid Air and ordered 2 to start. I watched a few Youtube videos. It seems pretty straight forward. You should watch them. I’m going to do it myself. I’ll let you know.

Does that seem to be the issue with them is the air chamber leaks. Maybe it's an easy fix and a DIY job. Please let me know how it turns out for you. John
