Just An FYI If You Hunt or Recreate in Colorado

Kalifornia has suffered the same fate for us rat shooters here. With all their rules and regs, ban on lead bullets, no concealed carry and more, we stopped our annual trip to N. CA for sage rat shooting. So now, the state or private entities do not get our motel money, gas, food/resturant, sporting goods stores or any other funds from us, period. A drop in the bucket? Sure, but it makes a point however small.

Can't legally carry? Don't go. Beautiful state, run by complete liberal idiots. Sorry for the good folks in CO who also suffer at the hands of libtards running their state.
Another good reason to migrate to Idaho. Idaho and Utah welcomes all that leave their politics behind them. Our governor here in Utah said that publicly last summer.

Its getting worse by the day. as a resident of liberal cesspool in New Calirado, traffic is getting worse. there putting in bike lanes in major Thorofare's eliminating parking and adding speed bumps. E-bikes scattered everywhere. so now the traffic races through the neighborhoods to by pass them. downtown they've done the same, and business are complaining that there traffic has slowed, no place to park. Gangs have taken over apartment buildings in aurora driving out residents and the ones that stay, they collect the rent. there's homeless camping in the industrial areas, streets lined with campers that are falling apart, piles of junk and trash. When they run them out they head to another area. I live in an old residual area, and there is 5 camper trailers a block from my house. I want to move, but I just retired and live in the middle of 3 extreamly nice ranges I shoot at all summer. i'm blessed there, but at some point its going to be unbearable and I will have to leave. Ive had this house for 40 years, and will hate to move all this stuff!
The land i live in was donated to the city by PT Barnum after he wintered here one year. so they named the library after him. There remodeling the library now, and when it reopens it wont have his name on it anymore. I guess he didnt treat the black people that worked for him well, so thats the reason for the re-name.
then theres the safe zones for heroin addicts, pot shops on every corner.
it wont be long before we have poop maps like Cal does.

I live in the SW corner of the state, so we don't see the same issues that the bigger areas do but we are being inundated with liberals from every direction. The western part of the state cannot compete with the central corridor for votes, which is very sad. But taking money from sportsman is just another part of their big plan, no more hunters in the woods, no more fisherman, campers, etc. They want the mountains all too themselves to ride their precious mountain bikes and no one will bother them. Very sad to say that i was born and raised here and just sickening to see what has happened. I will try and get the links posted up

I might have to back off on grocery shopping also. We have a small local store, but drive across the state line a couple times each month to Pagosa for major groceries. Otherwise it’s 2 hours to Farmington or Santa Fe.

Sorry but i am a little computer illiterate and can't seem to get the links correctly. Here are the YouTube channels to look at. Big Timber Lodge, Mrgunsngear Channel, Washington Gun Law, and Colion Noir. Give them a look and see if you get as mad as i did.

Colorado is $1.2 Billion in the hole. Just saw on Channel 4 News CPW is going to have to pay $300,000.00 out to the ranchers that lost live stock to the wolves. Another great success for the Governor.
Hopefully next year we can get a petition on the ballot to stop bringing wolves into the state.

There IS always hope??? MAYBE the BIG ONE will hit California and the left coast will fall off into the Pacific, starting inland just east of Sacramento? It could happen. Ocean front property East of Sac??? The real estate sellers will be going CRAZY and trust me, none of it will be cheap!! Sell high, tax high. It's the American way. :(
Just heard something like a 4.0 quake hit in the So Cal area. Getting closer every day. :D

I wonder how many blue votes there are second vacation home votes?
Aspen is "SPECIAL" is so many ways.
To some extent all the poplar ski areas are that way in CO, maybe everywhere?

As an example, two years ago in the spring my wife and I were having lunch at the kitchen table. The front door was open to allow light and fresh air in the house. A vehicle pulls in our gravel driveway ,and we heard the crunch of gravel. So like all the good folks here, I get up and head out to see who it is and what they need. I discover a very well dressed lady in a nice luxury vehicle inquiring about our river front property across the street from our home.
She kindly asked if I was interested in selling the property, I told her when I need to down size and likely not before. She handed my her business card and said that she and her husband live in Aspen (2.5 hours east) and sometimes want a break from winter so a small cottage in the western valley would be nice. She explained her husband comes down for a week or so every spring to ride his motorcycle and get out of the chill of the Roaring Fork Valley. She said they would only occupy the house they would have built for a couple of weeks a year........ Mind you that real-estate prices have gone up all over the nation. Here in Palisade bare farm ground (no house, no outbuilding, no utilities on the property,) goes for about $100K per acre. One acre on the river is a "touch" more. 10 acres of bare ground is about a million bucks. Put a house on that 10 acres , 1.2-1.5 mil.
So this lady wants to buy a one acre piece of ground on the Colorado River, just to hang out for a week or two each year.
Having worked in nearby Rifle for a bit, I have dozens of first hand stories about the good folks that now have a shanty in Aspen.

By the way, the gal that stopped by to see if we would sell that piece of land makes a living traveling the world in search of art work of all types to decorate the homes of the rich and famous because if Obama shows up for dinner, he cannot see the same art on the wall that was there last time he was here!!!!!!
Oh heavens no!!!!

CA, CO, NY, MA, etc are liberal training states - they indoctrinate them and send them out to pollute other states. They have come to SC and ruined the Charleston/Summerville/Beaufort/Bluffton/Hilton Head areas. It will be interesting to see what happens if we have some hurricane threats.

Times are tight due to inflation, I use cheap bourbon and leave out the coffee.

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (1 can is 14 oz)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee granules

I live in Lake county Colorado near Leadville. When I moved here in ‘96 I
was labeled an ‘outsider’ by the ‘long time locals’.
I often tell the locals to remember that their neighbors are the ones that sold out big and ran with the newcomers money. Why didn’t they sell to their neighbors kids?

Who’s gonna be the first person to drop their property price down so a local can stay here? You?

Lots of outsiders here now and the town has never been so vibrant.

The farmer/rancher selling a 40 acre parcel to a developer for a healthy cash offer so the developer can turn around, carve it into 1/4 acre lots with a house on each to sell for 500k each. The math on that profit is staggering. Somehow, the housing crisis persists with a shortage of homes and ever increasing house prices. Almost like some people are using houses as investments, buying more than they need or use, and have an interest in maintaining the ever increasing valuations.

Does that mean

Does this mean it’s a desirable place to raise Kids to teach them moral values without pot shop up on the corner to make them think that is acceptable?

If you teach them morals correctly you could have pot shops,
and hookers everywhere and they’d walk right by unaffected. My
WI home town was full of alcoholic fun but I didn’t get caught up
in it cuz my parents said not to and I respected them, and I knew they’d kick my butt.

My Dad had a bumper sticker:

TAKE YOUR BOY HUNTING
INSTEAD OF HUNTING YOUR BOY

P.S.- forgot to add that my folks didn’t drink but they
we’re smart, they bought and ran a liquor store.

Evan: There was a housing shortage in 2001 and got even worse after 2008.
I’m wondering how it will fare after the tariffs on Canadian lumber kick in.
This is not a political statement , but one of sympathy for the younger
folks looking for a house to raise a family. Every morning I get up and my feet hit the floor I thank some entity that I have a place.
