Recently I bought some moly coated bullets off of the classified section. I looked around searched a few web sites and found no easy way to remove the moly coating. I got to thinking and came up with a method that worked very well, took the coating off quick, and with little effort.
I put the bullets into a jar and filled the with jar Kroil, until the bullets was covered. I took the jar, and taped the lid still and placed it in my tumbler for 30 minutes. I then took the jar poured off the nasty looking Kroil, and then washed the bullets in lacquer thinner, but putting them in another jar, and just covering the bullets. I swished them around by hand, and let them soak for about 10 minutes. I then poured off the lacquer thinner, and dried them on a paper towel.
This is what they looked like after done.
