You might get less fliers, but they are still there.

And I had a nasty flier with $30 X-Act at this mornings early
session. We have a clear winner. I need to grab some lunch
then score the results.....

Well it is what it is. And pricey ammo don't mean it likes
your barrel. I was a little disappointed in the RWS R-100
and the Eley Tenex where the Tenex averaged .596" groups
and the R-100 a .610" avg. I decided to blow thru that single
$30 box of Lapua X-Act....After cleaning, I fired the ten sighters
in to a group that was not looking good, with one shot having
a mind of it's own. I used up the remaining 40 rounds and did
come up with a .415" group avg.....Now the winner and by a
large margin is the RWS R-50. It came in at .307" group average.

I have 2 more boxes of the R-50 which I will now sort, and have
the grandson shoot one sorted box, and save the other box for a
tuner test.

Just goes to show that every rifle is different.

The factory ammo is the weak link in a good 22lr
The $20+ ammo doesn't shoot any better than the 5 or $10
in many rifles.

I agree wolf match will shoot with the best of them and always readily available, a toss between that, and Eley match flat nose black box, which I give the edge to due to excellent downrange terminal ballistics on live targets, like these.Back of head,DRT,100 yards.
