Just A Reminder: Zombie Threads

Zombie threads, on this forum, are loosely defined as threads that are resurrected after a year or more of inactivity. It's there for informational purposes, but it hasn't been active for a long time.

At the bottom of every post in every thread is a time/date stamp. If you see a thread is older than a year, consider whether you want to resurrect a thread that old. Maybe the question is answered or if you are interested in the original thread, maybe start a new thread with current information. Maybe it's something that is not even currently relevant (like someone asking about travel plans from two years ago).

At any rate, it seems like there has been an increased rate of zombie threads - if you really want to, no one is going to stop you from resurrecting it. But, maybe check the last timestamp in the thread and consider whether a new thread might be more relevant...

That's a good reminder. I think many times people don't look at the date. I know I have done this a few times. You feel like an idiot when someone reminds you. "That thread was 5 years old". Anyway I like to mark threads so I can return to them and get that information so how long are threads kept before you delete them? Also how can you bookmark a bulletin article and how long are the kept? Congrats on your SWN results. Thanks

Oh sure, just because you're a big time shooter last week you think you can tell everybody how to live..... Congrats on the good shooting!:)

That is because every time someone new asks a question they get yelled at about how to use the search button!!!

Yep, that is true. It's a difficult line which is why I'm just asking people to think about it before reviving a thread. Most of the revived threads I've seen lately are people responding with answers to dead questions, not necessarily asking for new information. I think it's mostly because people aren't aware that the thread might be old - they probably found it in a forum search. If it's an old thread with relevant information that is being revived to clarify or extend the conversation, then that's a different thing.

big time might be stretching it... :-) I had a good run, let's put it that way. Guys that do it consistently year over year, like Gosnell, Crofts, Litz, and so many others, are the big time shooters.

Yeah, well I wish I had somebody like you living next door so I could figure out which way was down range.....o_O

I just couldn't resist the temptation of bringing this zombie back into the light. You see how it got derailed at zombie junction, from the quasi-dead to who's gonna outshoot who. By the way who won I'm behind the times?

I'm scanning thru replies noting the dates and thinking to myself that some smartass is going to bump this thing just to be ironic.
Well done, sir, lol. Well done
