Jump Test Results

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I will get out and try this after the FCN's and Worlds, I have been pretty tied up getting my .284 tuned. I will do a complete test and post the results. All I know is I love shooting this rifle and if the conditions are right at Raton I may bust it out!

My old no-turn Dasher (UBL) had a 1.5 degree leade and I always jumped the 105 VLD's to good effect. Same thing with my older Palma rifles and 6.5/284. 1.5 degree leade and jump the bullet, no matter if it was a tangent ogive or a VLD. I'd just set the bullet back .025" and start testing powder charges until I got good chrono numbers and groups at 600yds from the bags. Everything I shot once I got done testing seemed to shoot better than could ever hold it from prone with a sling.

Where I'd get into trouble was when I would set up a neck and the brass for soft-seating. Could never get quite the accuracy or the chrono numbers.
