Juenke machines being made again

Has anyone seen how much these are being sold for? I guess Spencer rifle barrels is who one would get them from..

Does anyone have an opinion on whether this is worth the money?

Supposedly It's air-coupled ultrasonic testing.
The interface between copper jacket and lead core represents an accoustic impedance shift, causing reflection timing that shifts with jacket variance to the transducer.

But I read on here once that Sierra Bullets did a test with the machine and said it doesn't do anymore then check concentricity of the bullets themselves.. All be it at a high speed in comparison, but still that is useful information and can sort out potential fliers..

Clay Spencer had the early models and was going to sell them at one time.

His testing showed they worked every bit as good as the old Vern Juenke machine and had some extra bells and whistles.

Do you have any idea what they cost now………. you better be sitting down when you hear it……. jim

I did see a used one come up for around a $1000.

Do you see results down range? I would suspect just spinning your bullets and checking concentricity would be beneficial in these fast twist barrels..

That is a used one from Vern and you can't get it repaired ……. The bullet doc. won't do it, but his are very pricey ……. jim

I have one of the older ones, and in all honesty your money is best served buying a high end lab grade scale. I've spun my bullets and cases and tested them to just bullets I measured and weighed cases and there was no evidence on paper that sorting the bullets by spinning them were any more accurate than bullets I just measured the bearing surface on.
I'm thinking the new machines are in the neighborhood of 1500.00 +

I have absolutly zero intentions to buy one, but your comment got me curious!!! So, I checked the provided link and found no prices.....so....

Please....do tell.

I think the Bullet Doc. machines assembled are 2500-3000 range but i could be wrong but the price of the kit is high, i think he make about two a month……. jim

I make bullets and can't see why I would need one of these.
Clyde Hart told me the best way to spin a bullet was down the barrel.
The match grade jackets they sell today are far better then the one sold in the past.
Run out is less the 2/10 ths of 1 thousands
most of the custom ones sold today are withing that run out.
But the again there's always someone that likes to spend their time tinkering.
I'm sure the machine works very well if you think you need one.

There was a big discussion at benchrest central about this machine and it's merits just a few months ago you might want to look at.
