optical boosters question

I'm in the process of having my first 6mmbr built by clay spencer. I have a leupold varix 3 6.5-20 for it and I was wondering who still boost the power on these scopes I heard premire reticle doesn't Fool with them anymore. And has any one tried one of the screw on boosters from bullzeye pro. It would be nice to return the scope to normal with out all the hassle

Best bet is not the "screw on" in MHO, the side on is available in the power you would want for longer ranges. I have used them for the last 4 yrs. in F-Class without any problems and with only good things to say about them.

I have used the Bulzeye pro boostrer, on my T36 to boost the power to 44. The booster works but it has it trade offs, First it magnifies the size of the crosshairs, and second it cut down the amount of eye relief you have. I guess it depends on wht your intended use is for it. I prefer a varible power scope for shooting 600 and 1000 yards, most time I dont turn the power up over 24. I did notice with the T36 with the 3x booster I was able to see bullet hole in my target at 600 yards, if the light was right.

On my short range 6PPC guns (100-300 yards.) I use the booster more. The only problem is with the booster it cuts down on eye relief, so it is possible when shooting free recoil to have the gun come back and hit you in the eye. You have to watch how much travel you give the rifle.
