Judge Amy Barrett

When is the side show?

I believe it is Tuesday night at 7 pm EST. on every ones favorite CNN.
On another note the Dems. are already talking about upping the number of judges, so they can stack the deck if/when they take over. The number is not set by the constitution it was set by congress back in the 1800's so they can change it.

I have a feeling a full 9 member Supreme Court will be required to ultimately determine who wins the presidential election. With the possibility looming of massive voter fraud in key States the lawsuits will be flying like bullets in a war. All these challenges to vote tallies will sooner or later filter up to the SC. At least if Judge Barrett is confirmed and sworn in by election day that will be one more voice on the court for rule of law.

You all grab your seats. Your fixing to be in for a fast ugly confirmation, followed up by at fast swearing in, in time to handle the election cases.

This could be a godsend. Time will tell. Hopefully not another turncoat Roberts. I'd like to see her standing strong against more insulting, accusatory questioning from the left, and gives it right back to them. Maybe throw in a few "bless your heart".

I believe that the 2nd Amendment is now safe for the next 20 years at lest. With the nomination of Judge Barrett, who has a proven record, on the interpretation of the Constitution as written, we can now rest a little easier.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you about Judge Barrett's potential confirmation before the election, Nick, and especially the likely effect it will have on the Second Amendment, or more accurately, laws regarding gun purchasing and militarized models.

This outright power grab by Republicans will likely result in an expansion of the SCOTUS to 12 or 13 members, mostly Liberal. And likely retirement of the current crop of aged Liberals and replacement by much younger Justices. In other words, this event will become historically significant in how badly it backfires.

As far as I can tell, the only Americans who think SCOTUS is NOT a political court are the 9 members of the court itself. I am of the opinion that politics should never be a factor in deciding a court case, that cases should be defined by the facts and how they relate to the Constitution and how that applies in today's world. And that SCOTUS justices should be selected by their legal skills, not their political leaning.

If we want to begin to dismantle the corruption within Washington, we need to start at the top where the corruption gets is legal underpinnings. This move by Republicans will only make that effort more difficult and further entrench the corruption for decades to come.

I totally understand what your saying, but I still enjoy listening to him. About just every week he will shoot the breeze of the on goings of America on the early morning Fox News, sometimes up to 45 minutes. I think he really cares about this country and wants to make it self sustaining again. This has to happen, China is not our friend.
There was a time when I literally couldn't stand Trump (even tho he's my pick and I'm sticking with him) simply because his mouth is too much. No filter and no respect for others he bashes. Then I realized what BS the media has put him thru for the last 4 years and re thought my position. Today I enjoy listening to his ignorant comments provided he doesn't get to ignorant to the people non-deserving of it. The left is soooo far left and allowing all the "Peaceful Protests" to continue to burn down our country that anything Trump says or does to them, he has my full blessing. Guess you just have to try to walk in another's shoes for a moment. I did that virtually and realized Trump is not getting even, he's getting ahead. BTW... Amy Barrett couldn't be a more decorated and qualified choice for Ginsberg's position on the bench. The Dems couldn't have come even close to picking one with a better head in their shoulders. Following the Constitution and loving America are the top two priorities. Something that todays Democrats do not practice.

Yes the Congress my try to raise the number of Justices who sit on the court. FDR tried to do that but even the liberal Congress of that era, would not allow it. All of this will hinge on this election.

It is my belief, that the silent majority of this nation, are a bit sick of what is going on right now and will vote for politicians who are outspoken in matters concerning the so called peaceful demonstrations, at this time.

People are frightened. This is evidenced by the 30 million firearm purchases since the first of the year, which will probably reach 40 million by the end of December. That is of course dependent on the availability of product. The two gun shops I deal with here have told me that shipments have slowed down as distributers have no stock. Manufactures are working to capacity and still can't meet demand. One dealer told me he ran out of used guns and that buyers will take anything that is left. He will not sell most calibers of ammo unless you make a gun purchase.

Most of todays buyers are first time gun owners. Over half are women. The local ranges are running safety and defense classes constantly. This month while at the range, on two occasions I witnessed first time owners come there with a brand new shotgun and an AR 15, rifle still in the box. I was forced to school them on some safety tips and how to load their new purchase. They weren't reckless, just uneducated. Both were very appreciative and rally were interested in learning some do's and don'ts.

All we can do is vote, watch and pray. If the election is not settled by Jan 21, Trump's term is ended and Nancy Pelosi or whoever is speaker of the house becomes president till the matter is settled in the courts.

If you think there is anarchy in the streets at this time, you ain't seen nothing yet, if Trump wins this election.

Now I would caution all, who wish to continue conversations on this subject, to refrain from making attacks, on individual politicians. So far, the Boss has not intervened and locked this thread. If it gets nasty, he won't like it.

This election is just a primer for 2024.
The boat rockers on both sides over compensate and out of synch.
People in the middle are getting tired of being wet.
There will be survivors but mostly honest victims when we capsize.

If Liberal politicians treat the people this poorly when we are armed to the teeth, well then just imagine if you will, what they will be willing to do to you once they've taken away your guns!

Looking into the future leads me to a question. How does one form a “legal” Militia ?o_O
...or do I just need to get Deputized?

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched. there is no limit to what the opposition will attempt to derail the confirmation.

It's not just the Second Amendment that's at stake here, it's the ideology that allows liberal justices to ignore the constitution and redefine America in their twisted image. Ginsburg may have been a great trailblazer in the sense that she solidified the radical feminist movement. The real trailblazer for women's rights was Phyllis Schlafly. She warned that radical feminism would actually strip women of rights they possessed and she was right.
Barrett is eminently qualified for the position. Her rulings suggest she has the temperament and respect for the constitution as it was written. That is all we can ask of any justice. Unfortunately that's not what we get even from many of the conservative appointments like Gorsuch and especially Roberts.
I pray she can overcome the battle that's sure to begin in earnest tomorrow and continue for the rest of her life. The thing we can do to help is to vote for republicans down the line and deprive the liberal Marxist politicians the power they need for disrupting our nation and destroying the constitution. To them no amendment is sacred if it goes against what they need to rule as royals despite their constituents wishes.

Republicans should handily beat them in all contests if one believes the Left is incapable of such tactical forethought. But they don't; and believing as you do, underestimating our opponents is in itself foolish and dangerous.

I absolutely shudder when thinking of the possible consequences this election could bring. They want to increase the court to perhaps ....how many ?
