Joypod questions

I received my new joypod yesterday. 10 month wait.

Good gosh its light compared to the rempel I used to have...!!! Lol. I went as far as tapping on it to see if it was all aluminum lol.

Turns out the handle isnt, its plastic... then the knob on the end fell off, Im gonna have to glue it on, that disappointed me some. I thought the handle was aluminum, and threaded on, or attached to the bipod differently.

Just quarterbacking, but I would like an aluminum handle that threaded on, had a allen wrench set screw, or clamping mechanism. Id take the extra weight for more robustness.

Just initial thoughts...

Question 1: Has anyone had issues with the handle and or connection to the bipod? Im not a fan of plastic tightening to hold the handle on. I tend to over tighten and break things haha.

My handle has a nut that tightens on threads on the handle to friction clamp the handle to the stub on the bipod.
It's counter-intuitive for me - just today I was tightening the shit out of it trying to get it off :) I think I would have broken it by now if there was any plastic involved.
I also have to try hard to remember to rethread the nut well on so it doesn't go rolling around on it's own.

The other end is just a press on cap.

I had the handle come loose once. It didn't fall off. Just flopped around. On my 3rd full season with it.

I had all the screws, bolts or whatever need tighening over this time. Recoil or just use not sure why. Not a big deal once I decided not to find out on the line while going for record.

Two seasons with Joypod and no issues. I thought handle and nut are lightweight aluminum not plastic. I tighten but don't hulk. Nothing has loosened on my Joypod shooting 308win and 223 rem.

Hi seb here, I am sorry for the confusions! Not sure which part you are refering to but there is no any plastic in the Joypod except for the teflon shim and friction pins inside the head unit and that is only for a good reason, smoothness and lightness. All other parts are made from alum 7075 and 6061.

Please check the manual and the exploded drawing for your info/ reference, I am sure you can be more familiar with the bipod.

If you have any more concerns or questions about your Joypod feel free to let me know, thanks.

All the best,
seb

Seb and Ernie are great on customer service and would probably have handled all of your questions and issues with a simple phone call. Ive never had an issue with my Joy-Pod and I have a second one on the way and my kids are the ones using it. You want something tested have a 12 year old boy test it! They are good at destroying things

That's by design - allows you to easily shorten the handle if need be. Once you have the length the handle where you want it, a dab of silicone sealant will keep it in place.
