Joined Riverbend

Just wanted to post because I am a bit excited to have joined Riverbend Gun Club here in North Georgia. My dad was a member decades ago, and I have been the guest of a friend a few times.

My wife wanted to get this membership for me for my birthday. I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to shoot there often (hopefully).

Completed the range tour with the CRO yesterday. I wasn't sure if many from this board shoot matches there or are local members? I have seen the club mentioned a time or two here, but I am not certain of the popularity it has as I haven't shot any matches, nor do I keep up with results...though I probably will now.

If you've read this far, thanks for putting up with my excitement.

Great range. Wish I lived closers.
I shoot two registered short range benchrest matches each year there
One in the spring and one in the fall
Love it

What do you shoot?

We dropped down from Michigan to shoot a 100 - 200 yard BR match there this spring. We'll be back. It's that nice of a place. The people are great and friendly, which is typical of the Southern Folks. Did you join to shoot benchrest or some of the other courses of fire there?

Thank you for your comments. I have always simply shot behind the house but range is limited. I wanted to be able to shoot longer distances. Riverbend was the obvious choice.

I used to try to shoot some benchrest, but ended up selling my front rest...honestly I was at the point of either going "all in" or shoot different courses (I didn't think of doing both...) so I mainly enjoy shooting off bipods (Harris style) with rear squeeze bag. Cartridges I load for are .223, .243, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308. Very vanilla for sure, but I love it.

I've never shot the high power range, and I am excited about learning how to pull duty in the pits and shoot the from the 600 yard line.

Now that I have the membership, it feels as though I should get another to justify the membership. HA!!!

I was one of the early members, and must say you are in for a great experience, I have shot br, ipsc, skeet and trap there and just plain fun shooting.
the folks are as you say, just plain good friendly and knowledgeable.

Bob, I am really looking forward to it. I'll go mostly during the week I'm sure.

I think they hold 600 yard f-class gawga_boy.
