John Whidden wins the Wimbledon Cup

Congrats to another Southern boy as John Whidden wins the Wimbledon Cup (for at least the second time if memory serves me correctly). He shot a 200-17X to get in the shoot offs and a 100-8X to get the victory.

Congrats again to this silent warrior and champion.

Regards,
Jim Hardy

I'm proud when any American wins an international event. It's closer to home when you use the man's reloading gear.

Good shooter and great man. I feel sorry for anyone who has never met him. He is as good as they come.
Jim, Kudos for the post. Hope you are doing well.

Very glad to see the wimbledon cup headed to the south again . That was a fine show of marksmanship also glad to see his team mate Tom Guercio to make the shoot off with John .good job men

Another fantastic performance from a real gentleman. Before all the adrenaline wears off, maybe consider giving Jeremy just a tiny raise for all of his help and dedication. ;D

John's on a roll this trip - fired 75 w/14 V's today in the opener 800 yard match for the World Individual Long Range Championships.

(Note we're shooting by ICFRA rules hence the 1-5/V scoring rings rather than our NRA's 5-10/X.)

171 shooters fired 'clean' 75's but John had best score by one V over the next highest seven firing 75-13's.

Tough bunch here this week.

Even more impressive is pulling targets next to his or his. Very easy work. Just pull target up and down :)

I can vouch for that! I pulled his target during Wimbledon regulation firing. Very impressive.

It seems that the old 243 works very well at 1000 yds !

Guys, I really appreciate the compliments and it was a pleasure to shoot with those of you who were there. Sorry for the late reply, but I just got home this morning. I was shooting the .243 and a still super happy with the cartridge.

John, I was proud of you for your outstanding shooting in the Wimbledon shoot off. That was an impressive target. My only question was who to root for, you or Tom. I was pulling for both of you.
