JLK bullets

anyone out there used the JLK 6mm 115 VLD? if so, what cartridge and what twist rate? i called JLK this morning and asked what the BC of that bullet was because it is not listed on their site. the 105 VLD has a listed BC of .560 and the JLK rep said it was higher than the 105 although they don't have any real number on it. Any of you shooters out there tested this bullet and do you have an approximate BC? am thinking about doing another rifle build. i'm thinking a 7.5 twist in 6BR-DX. i think with this bullet/cartridge combo would be a blast to shoot.

I would hope maybe someone who has much use with 115 Berger, Tubb, and JLK will share their 115 grain experiences with our inquiring minds......

I went through the best part of 900 pieces of the 115 JLK's last season. I shoot MR and LR prone exclusively, so I measure every bullet on a comparator and segregate by bearing surface length. After an hour of so of this it was apparent that the bullets are boringly consistent. I am currently shooting them out of a 30" Krieger, with a 7.75" twist rate. The cartridge is a 30 deg. shouldered 243 called the 6mmSX (Thank you Robert Whitley). Running the bullets just over 3,000 fps. gives me the accuracy potential to shoot a clean anytime the nut behind the trigger does his part. In short, if you have a true 1-8” or faster bbl., buy with confidence.
I hope this helps,
Lloyd

FWIW, Bryan Litz's book on LR ballistics lists a G1 bc of .545 for the Berger 115 VLD, while the G7 bc is .279. Numbers for the DTAC 115 are: G1=.540; G7=.276. Given the fact that these are not "as advertised" numbers, but were derived from actual firing tests, and that the two bullets have G1 & G7 values so similar, I'd expect the JLK 115's BCs to be in the same range.

One other thing worth mentioning - I've found trajectory & wind drift predictions using the point mass ballistics solver program included with Bryan's book to compare very closely to results I get at both 600 & 1000yds., with a wide variety of 6, 6.5, & 7mm bullets.
