Jewell Triggers Info

Does anyone have contact info for the people that make Jewell triggers? I'm fairly certain they don't have a website, at least not one with their name attached, and therefore no identifiable email addy. If someone knows otherwise, I could use the help. Thanks. -Rod-

Rod,
We all know you can type, so how about this.

Well, I got a letter back from Jewell yesterday. No luck. He simply told me that all he does is Remingtons, Winchesters and AR's and offered no other info.

Any ideas? Can the spring in my Browning A-Bolt's trigger group be removed and perhaps replaced with one that's a wind or two shorter or is there a stop to prevent that? Mine is compressed as far as it will go and the pull is simply too heavy, around 2-2.5lbs. I could yank it all apart but I'd hate to get in over my head doing that and not get it back together. Thanks! -Rod-

heres a neat little trick to know about springs....If it needs to stay full lenght [you cant clip a turn off for whatever reason] try removing the spring & fitting it onto a piece of round stock steel in a spinning chuck..Might need masking tape to form a gripping surface on the steel rod ... slide the spring over that put it in a chuck or use that rig to hold it near a grinder...With a fine grit stone or emory paper..remove some metal from the outer surface of the spring..be careful to not get the spring hot enough to remove its temper or it is worthless...I got a model 70 shooting real nice when timney was not shipping replacements for those a few years back.you can get the pull down nicely with just the right spring/tension..Good luck..mike in ct
