Jewell trigger problem

I hope I can type this where everyone can follow along...

I have a panda action with a Jewell trigger in it. Yesterday while at a UBR match, my son was shooting it. We finished the match, I had about 6 rounds left I need to fire form(new brass). I let him shoot the rifle just to be shooting it. Came down to the last round and the bolt would not stay cocked. When working the bolt, it will not hold the firing pin back. I figured a dirty trigger, loose trigger shoe, something.

Today I took the rifle out of the stock, took the trigger off the action to give it a good cleaning. Reinstalled the trigger, worked the bolt, and same thing. It will not hold the firing pin in cocked position. So now I take the firing pin out of the bolt, cleaned everything. Put all back together, same thing. I thought maybe the shear need more engagement, so I turned the screw setting the trigger to allow full engagement, I also set the trigger pull to max. Still same thing.

I change the trigger out with my spare Jewell. Action now works fine. What am I missing.

Never taken one apart. Something has to be wrong.

How is Jewell customer service? Haven't had any issues before with any of their triggers.

Seems to work fine out of the rifle. I can push down on the top of the trigger, it holds, pull the trigger and it drops. Trigger seems to work fine. Just will not hold the firing pin back on the action.

Take it apart in a ziploc bag and see whats going on or send it to your gunsmith to check out. Id want to know if its something simple before i sent it back. Let me snap a couple pics of one i saved just for conversation sake and ill post them

this one was doing the same thing. I figure cleaning solvent did it but not sure what rusts stainless. take yours apart and compare it and maybe you'll see why the sear is dragging and can fix it easily

The "user manual" says: "Cleaning: Flush after each barrel cleaning with lighter fluid. The use of lubricants is not recommended." I've never done it. Also, here in NC it's humid most of the time. SS will eventually rust.

Did you pierce a primer? If so a lot of blowby goes through the trigger and messes it up. Sometime cleaning helps, other times disassembly and cleaning is the only way.

Didn't pierce a primer. Took it apart today, not that dirty and not rusty. Cleaned, oiled, and put back together. Still doesn't work. Going to contact Jewell and see what they say.

Has to be bolt contact and trigger contact. Trigger seems to work fine out of the rifle.

Funny thing, trigger worked for 99 rounds out of a 100. Guess I'm lucky that we finished the match.

Take it back apart and get all the oil out of it. Spray it with carb cleaner then reassemble. Then spray lighter fluid all in it and shake it out. Make sure youre adjusting it according to the instructions and not accidentally turning one the wrong direction. If nothing is broke it has to work unless the oil has it sticky. I know you can fix it- i just hate for you to go thru having to send it back
