Jewell trigger issue miraculously 'fixed'

Had a Jewell BR trigger here to trouble shoot for non-function. The explanation was that under no circumstances would it cock. It was on a Panda so the hanger came with along with the trigger. Took it apart, did the cleaning and detailing, plopped it back into the hanger it came and put it on my Panda for final adjustment. I did notice that the hanger didn't look like all my other Kelbly's hangers.

Here's what I found....the mounting flange on this hanger is .050" thicker than the Kelbly's hangers. Because of the thickness, the trigger wasn't going upward far enough in the hanger cut to let the trigger sear touch the firing pin cocking piece. Which is why it wouldn't cock. I plopped it into one of my spare hangers and like Lazarus rising from the dead, this 'dead' trigger suddenly came alive and worked like it should.

The Paul Harvey moment (the rest of the story) was when the owner told me he'd bought a new B&A and Sidhe trigger to try and fix the problem....ouch. How the hanger came to be in that rifle (used gun when he bought it) is another mystery.

Like Roseann Rose Anna Danna used to say on SNL: "It's always something!"

Good shootin' :) -Al

Making a hanger is a fun project on a mill and you can drill the trigger holes where you want for the pin fall you want. But there are a couple things you can't change......
