Jeweling a Bolt

I'm looking at trying out another gunsmith project of jeweling a bolt. Been searching internet for jeweling jig and can't seem to find many that sell one.

Anyone have any suggestions of ones that you have found that work good and where to buy them? <$200 price range

Also? What other parts or extras do you need to jewel a bolt? besides Rubber abbrasives and compound?

Are you using a drill press or a mill? I have a 5C collet spindex that I use for all kinds of stuff. It really comes in handy. It's also a pretty inexpensive tool. Much less than $200

I was browsing brownells and i seen they had a lot of the accessories, but not the actual jig to hold the bolt. I will be using a drill press for it.

If you could brief me on how a spindex could get the job done that would be great.

You really need that jig, it will be a head scratcher trying to keep your swirls in line and evenly spaced without one..

I jeweled my VZ25 Mauser bolt. Came out beautiful!
I built the fixture of 1X4 pine boards and a hand full of bolts and washers.
I got the information from an article in some Mauser forum or maybe Brownells do-it-yourself stuff.

pm me and I will try to find the article in my files.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I will give brownells a call otherwise don't worry about finding the article i seen there were great instructions on this one site for building one. Just not the best with wood working, so i was trying to avoid it if possible.
