Jewel Trigger

ok so i just bought a bran new Jewel Trigger for a Rem 700,
i just installed it and when i get ready to fire it wont fire. you have to put it to safety before you close the bolt, close the bolt and then fire. if you leave it in fire and re open and close the bolt it will not fire until you put it on safety and then open and close the bolt again. if you have run into this please help! Thank you! :)

we have tried all of that. nothing worked. when you cock the bolt you cannot change from the fire position to the safety position, you have to open the bolt to do that. Very frustrating, the trigger went in without a hitch, just dosnt function. :-[

1 more thing when you installed your trigger did you push safety lever foreward& put spring back right hope some of this helps i broke 2 jewell triggers sears fireforming with rem.700 action before having gre tan to bush bolt face regards shooter63

>:(I'm thinking it's got to be a defect. When you close bolt you should be able to move from safety to fire freely, but you cant.once yiou close bolt and in fire position thats where it stays, cant put safety on!

Had the same problem on one of my rifles and the safety lever was being interfered with by the stock. Check to see if the stock is contacting the safety lever or it's linkage on the trigger itself.

Try taking the action out of the stock and see if it still does what you describe. If it doesn't, then it is the stock interferreing with the safety mechanism. If it still does what you describe, make a phone call to the person you bought it off of or Jewel. WD

well here is what happened---It was snug in the action, just enough to mess with function.worked out a bit with the dremel and wella-one fine jewell trigger !Operational!
